They have some really good players, really good. But when I’ve seen them they do seem to run out of steam pretty quickly. We really should have beaten them last time out, despite them seeming to control the pace of the game.

We outplayed them at their place and we're coming in to more form with more options from the bench. Let's not fear them, a Semi Final of a European competition over 2 legs against Forest is a fantastic position to be in.

Look at it from their perspective, they're got a Semi Final against a Champions League quality team where the second leg is away. They need to do the damage in the first leg. We are rock solid at home in Europe. We can do these. McGinn, Watkins, Martinez, Mings, Abraham Konsa, Cash , Luiz are all guys that have been on a journey with us and wont want this to end with nothing.

No bogey sides involved, no mental block, if we play to our best we win. Emery will have us primed and set up. I can't wait. McGinn holding aloft a trophy and cementing legend status is one step more likely now.

Forest have been incredibly lucky to get to the semi.
An own goal in Porto, a massively deflected goal at home, playing against 10 men for most of the game.

Some might say their name is on th………

NO !!!!!! I won’t accept it. Ours is on it.

Aston Villa will charge fans Category 2 prices for the Europa League semi-final against Nottingham Forest, effectively lowering ticket prices compared to tonight's quarter-final. Should be an electric atmosphere for that second leg.

Francesco Calvo listened to backlash and concerns from fans about the decision to raise ticket prices for tonight's Europa League quarter-final and has decided to charge Category 2 prices for the semi-final as a result.

John Townley

I’d be more impressed if they managed the criteria for tickets.

On the train back to London without my glasses but it looks like members with 6 games can apply and then it drops to 2 in one go. That’s  a shocker.
Totally agree mate. It’s well set up for the usual website collapse and people who have been to five matches missing out.

We've been in two semi finals under Unai, been favourites for both and have comfortably lost both. This won't continue.

Looks like it is there now on the website.
Slightly annoying they have gone 6 to 2 for members - I have done 6 but my son has done 5, so doubt we will get seats together, but hey ho!!  European semi-finals again, very exciting!!!

Forest far from easy and tie could be very close. Just in case, Unai needs to devote a lot of time in training on taking penalties so that every player is 100% confident in what they are going to do should the need arise.

Be prepared.

Graphic updated to include the Europa League and Conference League after all three English clubs reached the semi-finals. UEFA TV money: Aston Villa £25m, Nottingham Forest £21m and Crystal Palace £12m.

Champions League comparison

Arsenal might not have qualified for the Champions League semi-finals in the most exhilarating manner, but they've still earned around £108m from the competition to date. Other English clubs: Liverpool £95m, Manchester City £84m, Chelsea £80m, Tottenham £73m and Newcastle £57m.

Would rather face Forest in a two legged semi than in the final.
