Latest odds.

Villa - 4/5
Forest - 7/2
Freiburg - 9/2
Braga - 13/2

We'll be heavy favourites should we get past Forest.

Really didn’t want Forest, but here we are. Need to go and stink the City Ground out, get a draw and let the VP atmosphere engulf them. Honestly believe the winner of this tie goes on to win the trophy.  I’m nervous just thinking about it.

10 years ago today we were relegated.

Incredible

From Sherwood to Emery.

Sherwood had a 100% record in semi-finals. Thanks for everything Unai, but time to bring him back.

Just a (chilling) reminder that this could easily have been Crystal Palace.

This is a good point.

Aston Villa will charge fans Category 2 prices for the Europa League semi-final against Nottingham Forest, effectively lowering ticket prices compared to tonight's quarter-final. Should be an electric atmosphere for that second leg.

Francesco Calvo listened to backlash and concerns from fans about the decision to raise ticket prices for tonight's Europa League quarter-final and has decided to charge Category 2 prices for the semi-final as a result.

John Townley

I’d be more impressed if they managed the criteria for tickets.

On the train back to London without my glasses but it looks like members with 6 games can apply and then it drops to 2 in one go. That’s  a shocker.

Really not sure how I feel about getting Forest. On the one hand, they're shit and you'd gladly draw them in a domestic cup semi. On the other, it feels like we've operated on a higher plane in Europe this season and I worry that playing an English team will drag us down. No doubt I'm overthinking it.

Not really, I'd still be wary of them. All it takes is a mistake or two at their place, and it becomes tricky. Really glad we finished second in the league phase and have the second tie at Villa Park.

They are a lot better than their league position.
They have some very good players, a number of their best X1 would get into our first  team or would not weaken it if they did.
They are also physical, niggly and dirty.
It is going to be a battle.

Stating the bleeding obvious we need to win the next 2 League games and then focus on Europa as we would be as good as qualified for ECL and hope they wobble in their 2. And are still looking over shoulder.

They were garbage under Dyche as demonstrated by their crap performance at Villa Park. They’ll be tough to overcome but I think we will do it just.

We just have to ensure  its not a collapse in 1st leg. If we can go into second leg  without avoiding defeat we have a fantastic  chance at VP which  hopefully  would be a special night

Since winning at Anfield in November their league wins have been against Wolves, Spurs, West Ham, Brentford, Spurs again. We can't be complacent but let's not make them out to be something they aren't.
