If we get to play Porto, I'd go just for the food and drink.

Jon have you ever eaten a whole francesinha? It’s shite

A man of great taste.

Ticket wise I'm already sorted for Porto away, just need to win our game and Porto beat Forest which I think they will over two legs. I've never been to Estádio do Dragão but was there down the road before when I first arrived here, Estádio do Antes held over 90,000.

My sons been nagging me for the best part of three years to take him to a European away day. Can’t afford the flights to Bologna and Istanbul if we get there probably won’t be doable for me for a whole host of personal reasons. So ive taken a punt on booking flights to Porto, not bad at £190 return for both of us and Ive booked an apartment in the city centre with free cancellation. Decided just to take the hit on the flights worst case scenario. No idea if I’ll be able to get tickets for the match, Ive struggled to get away tickets this season, Id sit in the Porto end if I cant get away tickets.

You'll probably be able to buy tickets online for the Porto stands but get in there early. An US based Arsenal mate just got us tickets for Sporting-Arsenal game and paid a king's ransom. This time I couldn't manage to arrange tickets from my Sporting 'socio' friends or family. Two seasons back I did and got them at €35 a shot. Porto and Forest have aligned ticket prices for Thursday and the return at the City Ground at €28 though that's not to say Villa will do the same. My guess is the higher the ticket price the more chance you stand of getting one online. Forest only got 2,516 tickets for the 50,000 capacity stadium.

I've managed to blag my way into an old Sporting mate's corporate box should we and Porto reach the semi final.

Quite happy for them to beat Forest. If we got through, playing an English team would be dull, and losing to them would be intolerable. We also need to add to our collection of former European Cup Winners. Think we are the only English team who could eventually play the lot.

Porto have won the European Cup and it would be warm and I wont have wasted £90 on a pair of flights.

Jinxy behaviour and under the influence of several beers, without checking my work diary for those dates. It was a winning moment all round.
