I wouldn't have minded the colours on the truckers caps if they weren't that cap design with the mesh backs.

I am far from an expert on caps, but it seems they do offer a few different cap types including versions with and without the mesh:

Like SQ, I'm not a fan of caps with a mesh, or trucker caps (too high). I prefer the lower profile of a 9TWENTY, but can live with a 9FORTY.

I don't like open backed caps so has to be a 39THIRTY for me…with a standalone lion. Make it happen.

If anyone is interested they have the full Villa range of caps on the New Era website. Including some that are not on the shop website.https://www.neweracap.co.uk/products/aston-villa-fc-gas-lamp-black-59fifty-fitted-cap-60850862?_pos=4&_sid=ae4e469bb&_ss=r

This is my favourite https://www.neweracap.co.uk/products/aston-villa-fc-1982-pack-dark-red-9twenty-cap-60850867

Followed by this one. https://www.neweracap.co.uk/products/aston-villa-fc-3rd-kit-dark-purple-9forty-cap-60850866

Not that keen on the rest.

I’ve still got the original 25th anniversary version of the first cap. Probably quite a few of us have.
19 years and a bit faded, but I’ll never get rid of it.

I ordered one of the 9Forty ones……arrived yesterday and going back today.

It’s fecking huge. And if you adjust it so it fits your head, the top of the cap is like Mount Everest it stands so tall.

If the 9FORTY is too high, then definitely don't go for any of the trucker hats.

More reports that next season's kit will be all-claret and inspired by our 1969 kit.

My first kit was the 69 top.
I’d say this is more inspired by the Luke kit.

Ah, what better than reminiscing about those heady days of 1969/70.

I can assure that 1970 was a great year.

I think it's inspired by being desperate for more kit sales.

I don’t understand how say Arsenal don’t need to change to a stupid non-traditional kit every so often yet we do. Or stripey teams, or basically any team except for tin pot ones like West Ham.

They can fuck off with their Hearts shirts.
