Love an all claret kit - my favourite is 1983/84.  Makes a nice change, especially seeing how last years and this years home kits are virtually identical - I'd guess that home shirt sales are down this year.

I think it will look fantastic.

I know the traditionalists want the same shirt every season, but ultimately the club & Adidas need to make sales.  It won't be the first or last time we adapt the template a bit.  Don't panic, the following season will 100% be claret body blue sleeves again.

Arsenal seem to manage OK with having red body/white sleeves pretty much every season for the past 90+ years:

My considered opinion is that I think we should fuck plain claret shirts right off because we're not fucking Hearts.

I see (on footy headlines) that the national teams who adidas supply are having extra wide fatboy stripes on the sleeves for the world cup so its likely there will be more blue on the sleeve than first thought, enough to keep the traditionalists happy maybe?

yet since 1982 we have had 11 seasons with non standard kits.

We won a trophy in one and were promoted twice in others.

Calm down.

Oh, this also happened.

I guess I can tolerate an all claret shirt, the Luke one grew on me, but is this an all claret kit?  a definite no from me then!

Claret shirt, blue sleeves is a Villa shirt. No stripey or Hearts shit. It's really quite simple. Anyone supporting this a Quisling.

I'm not keen on the new thick Adidas stripes. However, they might help if next year's kit is all-claret with light blue stripes.

Me too. I really hate it when we dick around with the classic Villa look of claret body and blue sleeve. Ok, so it is about once a decade on average (except the 80s and 90s when we did it more than once) but it is still far too often and is more the sort of thing you expect from the likes of Southampton,

The club and Adidas will be disappointed with sales this season. Part of that is their own fault because the design's a bit rubbish but the reality is that they need to sell. So putting something completely different in there will give them bigger sales again because as with the Luke kit everybody just went out and bought it.

Why will they be disappointed with sales?
