It's one thing to be nervous about how we may play and being nervous about Spurs. They are the side you want to play most, utter shit for nearly 6 months and with the distraction of a game a few days later that could save their season. I'd rather play them than anyone else in the league.

Yeah but ........

Well, you know.

Yeah. However bad Spurs are, there's something about them that makes my nethers twitch a bit. When they spanked us 4-0 at home last season it was off the back of a home defeat to Wolves and they followed it up by losing 3-0 to Fulham.

I think it comes from the fact that when they beat us, they seem to really smash us (a bit like Newcastle), so it feels like we do worse against them than we actually do.

I know that having the last two games of the season against the teams 16th and 17th in the league is great, but Spurs and Man Utd still have some decent players despite the chaos (and bad managers).

Any result is possible

They were awful when we played then in the Cup and have got worse, with key players out and a UEFA cup final 5 days later, we really should be beating them. They will play a lot of fringe players I reckon, and any 1st teamers won't want to get injured.

I completely agree. Doesn't mean I'm not still a tiny bit worried that our inherent Villa-ness will still come to the fore though.

Every time we’ve previously played them there has been a reason for them to want to win. That required effort on their part along with playing well.  Even in the FA cup game they showed very little when it was the case. This time, there’s nothing at stake as such as all they’re doing is fulfilling a fixture and hoping they don’t pick up any knocks.

We should be looking at a cricket score, it’s there if we want it.

All the talk of 5-0, 6-0 etc is premature , we haven't really battered anyone this season other than championship level sides like Preston and Celtic.
I'm expecting a close game , 2-1 Villa win .

I’m with PWS. They are absolutely wank. We’re funeral them. Cremate them. And for the wake, we’ll smash the tits off Man U too.

Man Utd could be dangerous depending on when they schedule their celebratory barbecue.

In a way moving the game to be Villa Park under lights against a Spurs group who don’t want to be there will be a great night. We have to do our part and really get into them quickly. They will be missing several players so no mercy at all.

Brighton away, too. If the three-nil win against Preston comes under the classification of "battering".

Edit: too quick for me.

On the realistic side, if they are indeed resting players, the ones coming in will know it's their last chance to impress and potentially sneak in to the team.

It's Spurs, and they have a very similar squad to the one that spanked us before.

We need to be careful and cautious. And then, when we have the measure of them, absolutely funeral the fuckers.

Nah they’re shit. They’ve proven that week after week. Their reserves aren’t suddenly going to elevate themselves to starting players. We need to do our job and put them to the sword. Which obviously also means take it seriously, prep well and be clinical. They get behind they’ll fall apart.
