Did you know? You just said you never thought we could go 25 mins with him on the pitch without conceding. Either way, odd to single him out to damn with faint praise after such an important win.

Torres certainly gave it a good go when he came on. Ball watching and then some. That Evanilson header, he hasn't a clue where he is. Then at the end, nowhere. Neither of those situations happen if Mings is there. Shocker of a cameo.

We got away with after Mings went off , again the defence was all over the place . Brilliant save from Martinez and then an astonishing goal line clearance kept us the 3 points . Mings must be carrying an injury as the substitution made zero sense and put us into real danger of losing points .

We were down to 10 men when they had their chances. They had nothing in the previous 10 mins with Torres playing instead of Mings, like they had nothing since the 28th minute with Mings.

I don't rate Torres in the slightest but he played ok when he came on.  Lost his man a couple of times but that's what good forwards do.  They don't just stand around waiting to be marked.  Was good in the air and was calm enough.  I prefer Mings but Torres did fine.

It’s more usual than never - we literally did it last week.
Stop avoiding the stats. Your live affair with Pau really blindsides you
You’re being odd, you brought up Torres and then start digging out someone who replied your post. Enjoy the win and wind it in a bit.

Well Evanilson was being well marked by Konsa a second before when he glanced over before looking back at the ball. Second one he was marking his man who was running in. Semanyo ran right passed a stationary Digne. Mings "might" have stopped both, but Pau was not helped by his other defenders letting their men go for both chances.

7 wins out of 8 and some people still try and find negativity. It's weird as fuck.

*Goes on the post-match thread buzzing after a massive win. Oh great, it's another Mings/Torres discussion.*

As Emery will. Never satisfied. Perfectionism.

That’s what drives Unai on

Imagine how many more pages this would have been if Ollies chance went wide.

For balance , I didn't think Mings had a great game either , but we always look more secure as a backline when he is there . We were sort of all over the place again when he went off .

I think it’s evident that both have been really key in pushing us to compete for Champions League places in consecutive seasons - they’re both really important. So are the rest of the squad - it’s a tremendous result today, against a good side.

They huffed and puffed but I can honestly only remember the semenyo shot that went wide and the one at the end when Cash put the lad off.
Bournemouth are a top ten side who havent lost in 5 and beat Arsenal away last week. Their two chances came when we were down to 10 men. It was really an excellent defensive display throughout.

Not sure who you are leaving out. But as villamole says I’d give credit to all three. Team, manager and owners. Which one are you not happy with?

Wasn’t the best spectacle at times but so impressive how we’ve found another way to win, again. Two games to go and we’re right in the race with European football of some description for next season already confirmed.
