And four of those might not have been stopped even with Mings on the pitch. But this , but that etc . We are infinitely better with Mings leading the backline . The stats do not lie. We are more creative with Torres at the back. Stats do not lie.

Mings might be a better defender, but Pau is definitely a better footballer.Horses for courses and in Unai we trust, amen.

I thought Mings just dominated Isak, step ahead of him throughout. Didn't impact the amount of chances we created.
We also did this incredible repetitive passing between two players which I’ve not seen before. Just kept doing it until a gap opened up and then threaded it through. Between a few different pairs as well.
For me thinking Pau is an unbelievable footballer doesn’t mean I’m anti Mings, far from it. All I know is August to December last season is some of the most exhilarating football I’ve ever seen down Villa Park. We may not have been watertight defensively, but we were dismantling teams, Brighton, West Ham, Fulham, Everton, Luton, Man City, also beating Arsenal in more of a backs to the wall. Pau was central to the way we played. He was also key to us beating Bayern and played really well against PSG at home as well. Agree, horses for coursesBoth play key roles in the games they are chosen for.Not a csae of arguing one is better than the other.None of this means we aren’t more solid with Mings and Konsa, people seem to have stats for that. But surely its horses for courses and not one or the other. I don’t get the obsession with one poster in particular constantly having to start the debate that Mings is the better defender.
