Patience is a virtue, I've learnt that watching Emery's Villa.
Need to up the pace, not sure the forward formation is working. A change might spark things.

I'd worry if Preston got a flukey goal .

Get matsen on and Watkins for Rogers. Watkins up.,Washford wide ..

One of those first halves where you genuinely think Austin McPhee is a bit of a fraud.

Woeful.  Loads of the ball but no idea once we get outside Prestons penalty area.  Rodgers, Ramsay and Digne have been abysmal, Rashfords free kicks belong at Twickenham.  Seems to me complacency about us playing against "only a lower league team".

I doubt there's any complacency, it's not like we're playing a League One team like Blose.

Unlike Paul Robinson j was always more worried about Preston at start of the game in the frenzy.

We’ve kept it tight. Now need to expand and take control. McGinn would be useful as would Watkins

. We put some decent corners in. The direct strikes are nothing to do with him though.

Yeah. Feels like one of those where we've deliberately stodged everything up in the first half and then come straight out and into them five minutes into the second.

Hopefully anyway.

Fresh brew in lucky Villa mug. Quick goal and we'll romp the second half.

I’d have Malen or Bailey as a more direct running threat.

Most of the corners have been cut out at the near post. Let's have a few where we chip it to outside the box for Asensio or Tielemans to get a strike in. Or move Mings to the back post to get a header across.

In general play I think Ollie and Malen will be on at the hour mark.

Bailey's not on the bench.
