Good read that, thanks Dave. He definitely deserves cult hero status.

You've got him scoring his final goal for Villa against Norwich, but then he scores for us again later on at Fulham.

Edit: now amended I see 🙂

Really loved hourihane as a player for us , he was a shining light through some dark times .  That goal v Smethwick in the play offs is one of the sweetest strikes I've seen and I was right behind it lower trinity . Brave player too , first on the scene when that twat tried to deck jack at St. Andrews and also right in the mix on that chaotic day at Leeds when they cheated a goal and got AEG sent off.

I always liked him. You've always got a chance with someone who can absolutely twat it in from 25 yards.

He is one of many that we should never forget as they played a fair role in us going from shit second tier side to the CL. It's still embarassing that some thought it clever to call him 'hologram'.

Loved him, and I can see him being a regular back at our place for years to come. They have been much better players who will never be held in such affection, either through their subsequent attitude or the way they left but CH joins a long list of cult heroes who trump perceived heroes every time
