UE being interviewed now. Insisting both EM and MA suffering muscle discomfort.

Perhaps MA strained his neck...

Little injuries he usually refers to them as.

Haven’t we moaned about not using the squad more and now we have we’re not happy?

Rogers, McGinn, Tielemans have played the last 400,000 on the trot, we're spending the GDP of a small country to have Rashford and Asensio as some sort of window dressing. Whatever you call that, it's not 'using the squad more'.

"Using the squad" would be giving Garcia and Malen a game, both of whom have been perfectly good when called upon, and couldn't play in the game either side of this one.

Yes but it's the way we use it...I think it's fab in principle that we can lose two such big players and still put out a 20 that strong

And the right back decision.

Tielemans didn’t feature right away. Maybe it’s another example of Emery thinking a player is close but not exactly ready. Who knows..

There are certainly players Unai wants out there at all costs. When Rogers limped off against Chelsea Unai was basically praying in post match interviews he'd be fit for the Palace game and there he was. Feels like the only game he's missed this season was when he was suspended against Leicester. He's had a very good season but there have been games when he's made little impact like Ipswich at home.

McGinn is another who is pretty much automatic as soon as he's fit after an injury, same for Konsa.

The problem then is you sign players who just become squad players and that can go either way. In fairness Maatsen being continually benched has been justified by how good Digne has been.

Bigger problem though we've again signed a RB and Unai would rather stick Disasi there which is baffling as he looked very uncomfortable playing there at Brugge.

I get Konsa as he's played in this system for two and a half years but playing Disasi over Garcia who's just had the week off and is fresh feels a bad call to me.

Rashford with one prem start in five now and Malen with one start in about ten prem games he's been available for are also interesting calls, even more so if Bailey just reverts back to cutting inside and constantly losing the ball today.
