Morgan Rogers has emerged as a January transfer target for Tottenham. Spurs boss Thomas Frank is a fan of the Aston Villa midfielder, 23, who is currently on international duty with England. (Teamtalk)

I’ve got visions of those two dumb tools off Sky sports news transfers voicing the clubcall lines

The regulations are making life very difficult for us, I accept, but to be in this much of a mess with hours now, not days, left in the transfer window doesn’t reflect well on anyone. We’re in full on desperation mode and doesn’t feel like we’ve been remotely in control since that deflating afternoon at Mold Trafford.
Things are slowly stabilising. Thank you for all your efforts.

Aston Villa are considering a bid for Sunderland's 25-year-old French striker Wilson Isidor in January. (Football Insider)

Obviously it's nonsense, but it's sweet that even internet nonsense sites know our Moustapha Hadji rule of buying the bloke who last scored against us when making up their nonsense.

I was away for the few weeks of the window and first few weeks of the season, so was largely spared the stress of scrabble for signings and poor start.

Now the squad is starting to settle down I am too displeased with where we are.

Bizot looks an absolute bargain, and I am no longer mentally writing games off whenever Martinez is injured. Indeed he has the better player of the two thus far this season.

Guessand has pace and energy (we lacked both) and works hard. Not muc end product yet, but you can see that there is something there to work with.

Lindelof gives us better back up than Dissasi did, and has acquitted himself well in the few times he has been brought on as a sub.

Elliott is a good player and I am sure he will end up being a regular starter. McGinn is not getting younger and I would imagine they will rotate a lot second half of the season.

Sancho impressed me before he got injured - not convinced that forking out for such egregiously high wages is the most canny use of our under scrutiny wage budget though.

Expected Ozcan to stay, so was surprised he was let go.

Sad to see Bailey leave, magnificent player when on form. Not that bothered about Ramsey, injured a lot and do not think he will pull up any trees at Newcastle.

Still annoyed with Martinez, and suspect some of our bad form first few games was due to the fall out from his antics. Wouldn't at all surprise me to see him leave in January.

I am hopeful that Onana, Malen and Maatsen step up this season. They were all damp squib signings that were not used much last season and cost a lot of money. Signs are good with Malen, and it does seem that Emery likes a season to get players integrated (evidence Tielemans last year).

Special mention to Buendia - nice to see him playing well after we spent two seasons trying to shift him out.

Think we will be in he mix for top six again, hopefully we win the Europa League. About time we won a trophy.

Pretty good overview
