Monchi needs to go tomorrow night at 7.01pm.

Agreed

Can’t post exactly everything cause it would expose a couple of relationships I value.

Monchi and his “recruitment” plan was totally dependent on freeing up cash (from sales and wages) to then act

Things happened far far slower than expected. They expected emi and Bailey to be gone by early July!

Since then they’ve scrambled around to try and act still. Which in turn resulted in JJ.

JJ did not want to leave. He was basically forced out by Monchi.

A number of the squad have been pissed about it

Frankly, I don’t want the bloke anywhere near us moving forwards. I’ll take a wager with anyone right now. Either him or Unai won’t be at Villa this time next year

Christ that is grim.

Wouldn’t Monchi’s plans be forced upon him? Surely in an ideal world we bring in players first then sell the ones we don’t want. This summer we couldn’t risk not selling the ones we wanted to. Had we spent £60-70M and then couldn’t shift players we would have been even more fucked. We clearly got a severe warning from UEFA and PSR point deductions from the PL probably weren’t far behind had we not tried to reduce squad cost and wages first.

If JJ was forced out for financial reasons, why cant we say Emi cant now leave, at least for now?

Honestly the more I'm reading about this the more I think Monchi has to be fired. There's ominously much in common with his Roma disaster - pissing off the squad, completely misreading the market, the dizzying velocity of that revolving door, and always acting like he thinks he's just the smartest guy in the business.

Hideous situation.

Fascinating and depressing at the same time.
If it’s as bad as that then he won’t last till next year.

He shouldn't be here next week.

Yes, it sounds pretty plausible. Having said that, it would be very unprofessional of players to be so affected by their mate JJ being sold. He's moved to another PL club on a bumper contract, not laid off from a factory wondering how he'll feed his wife and kids. As Emi said earlier, that's football. Cop yerselves on, lads!

Yup. Roma fans did warn us, and wasn't his second spell at Sevilla a bit of a shit show? Vague recollection, I don't know owt about it, though.

Well he can, when it suits us, which isn't 24 hours before the transfer window ends. And it sounds like his sale isn't financially critical to us now we've sacrificed JJ.

What a complete fuck up.

Hard to tell with Sevilla, as they were busy being inventively shit in every other department as well.
