Asensio is off to Fenerbache

You couldn’t make today up? To go from nearly beating PSG to this in the space of months.

Douglas Luiz
Leon Bailey
Asensio
Duran
Rashford
Disasi
Diabi
Ramsay

+ now
Martinez

The cryptic posts from Mings “you don’t know the half of it” and McGinn repeatedly berating PSR makes it very apparent that we’ve knowingly been driven into a financial brick wall.

As soon as Buendia was brought back into the fold i wondered if there was problems.

It’s always a red flag when a limited, but wholehearted, player looks like the standout.

that might be true.  McGinn is similar, where he dictates the tempo and work rate, but I’m not sure you’d want him to have the most touches of the ball. The team needs a few of these players but moreso their energy need to be the catalyst for Rogers and ….? To be their silky selves.

Tyrone Mings: “It is for us to stay calm & for us to act as professionally as possible. The players that want to be here, now is the time to stay calm. The window will shut & we will see what players we have here..”
you want to act a bit more professionally ON THE PITCH mate 👍🏻

Rank mismanagement.

What a dreadful fuck up of a window

Wow. You’ve changed your tune. A few weeks ago, when I suggested recruitment had not been great, you responded and I quote your words

“Yeah, I reckon going from a squad which survived immediate relegation back to the Championship on the last day of the season, to being in the QF of the Champions League five years after, that has been some proper shit recruitment.
I mean, honestly, that's a Tim level post. Worse,”

Paulie's post is about a specific window, though, this one. Seems like a nice bit of cherry picking from you when we can't see what you posted.

Just go back a few weeks and you’ll see lots of regular posters saying how good the recruitment policy has been and ridiculing those who suggested it might not be that great.

I haven't been on here religiously, but I can't imagine many posters have been waxing lyrical about THIS transfer window.

That’s so shortsighted. The difficulties we have had in THIS transfer window have been caused by the transfer business we have conducted in the preceding transfer windows.

Its true you can blMe the rules but fucking monchi decided to blow 80m on onana  and maatsen. Also the massive wages on rashford and asensio.

He gambled the clubs future and its cost us dearly. We have gone  backwards as a club.
This starts been worse than the year we came up witb smith

The difference is, a few weeks ago you were saying they’d fucked it up etc etc when we had had the three most successful seasons in ages. That was a hard argument to make at the time.

I am saying we’ve phenomenally fucked up this window. Which we have.

And I suspect the two things that have had the biggest impact last behind the scenes are how the JJ sale was handled (see Mings’s social media post) and Martinez, who we seem to be selling on the last day of the window when apparently he’s has an agreement with man united for weeks.

And why did those two things happen? Because of what happened prior to this transfer window.

Not only that if he stayed any calmer he'd be positively horizontal all game.

Interesting statement from Ty.  There has clearly been something going on and it might well be Martinez who has been causing friction.  Also would explain what Unai meant about being confident after tomorrow has gone.  What we really don’t want is a Man U situation with a bomb squad

Got to wonder exactly how many do not want to be at villa?  EMI, clearly.  Watkins if rumours are true.  Maybe Rogers.

Weirdly, given the finances, we could have done with shifting any ‘I want to leave’ players at the beginning of he window so we had a degree of control of proceedings.

I disagree - it is not that we need to sell Martinez, it is that we are doing it right now. If we had to sell him, do it early, not now when it is stinking the place out.

How much have we just spent on Guessand whilst fielding a clown shoe like Cash still?

You were arguing weeks back that the policy was a failure. I pointed out that that’s a hard shout when we had just had three excellent seasons.

I am pointing out that we have mismanaged this window. It is also worth noting that I don’t even mean just who has gone and who has come in, I mean in terms of squad spirit.

The Mings post, the half arsed nonsense of today. We’ve fucked up this window.

Seems to confirm what I just said

Unai Emery: "We will see tomorrow [f Martinez stays]. Of course, one of the circumstances that is not helping us. We need others, of course. I am happy with the players we have, but we have to get something more in the squad."

Just buy Brighton or Bournemouth's chief scout.
