Why aren’t we prepared?

Monchis jobs on the line for me. A massive 24 hours for him. A absolutely  atrocious  window
Probably the most difficult window he has ever worked in when a club has to get a salary ratio down from 90% plus to 70% or under whilst keeping your best players and pleasing the fans with a bunch of £50m signings.

I get it but he has made mistakes. Huge wages to rashford and Asensio didnt help. And its our own fault we let it get to 97%. The rules are shut and unfair i agree but we are as club know the rules and have to take responsibility.  Its decisions like giving bailey a pay rise after having one good season thats back fired on us

If we get a better goalkeeper, one who is younger and on lower wages that will at least be one plus in Monchi’s column.

I’m sure the club told Martinez he was up for sale before the final game of last season. That may have been a mistake and if so, the club has to reflect on whether that was appropriate timing.

Despite many clubs acquiring new goalkeepers, Martinez hasn’t been chased, which is why he is still with us. (Same as Watkins)

Martínez may still be a Villa player tomorrow if Man U decide to go for the other guy. They won’t be made to overpay for Martínez as they’ve got the alternative.

Trouble is, we want him gone and so will now have to accept whatever Man U offer (within reason).

Monchi has fucked this window up well and truly.

It's going to cost us, big.

I’m not nearly as doom/gloom as some. We sold JJ, an injury prone home grown player who left yesterday’s game grabbing his left foot. We know how that goes. Guessand comes in, who has a higher ceiling that JJ and is far more capable of getting some goals.

As soon as Emi changed agents, anyone who didn’t think this was a legitimate possibility wasn’t paying attention.

Are we going to challenge for the top four this year, probably not. But with the league now essentially being a “cap” league these pushes for the Top 6 will come in cycles. We got rid of a bunch of dead salaries and hopefully we can get things back on the right track in January.

Martinez is a bell end for how long this has dragged on. Perhaps Monchi should have got this done earlier if they thought it was going to happen. We’ve got under 24 hours to be ripped off for a replacement.

🚨 Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Emiliano Martínez and approached Aston Villa!

As exclusively revealed this morning, Dibu is back as concrete option for #MUFC if Lammens deal doesn’t happen.

Talks well underway now.

Any reason you keep on posting this?

I’m not nearly as doom/gloom as some.

Compared to some on here, Suicidal Syd would be a ray of sunshine.

The part about the cycles i agree with. Forest will be in this position next season  i gurantee it. Newcastle  possibly  as well if they dont get CL or dont get past group stage.

Has he? Or has the club simply been boxed into a corner by UEFA?
We've done a clinical job of moving people out, which is what the UEFA strictures demanded of us.

Whilst it’s one position, it shows it doesn’t take much to leave us exposed. Our attacking options are shockingly callow.

He has as he has helped get our wage ratio to 97% or whatever it was. He isnt the only reason but has made some decisions  that have added to our large wage bill

Also loaning players out when we have no players look at that bench! He has made a mess of this summer window. I think he has done a worse job than purslow tbh

Emery saying we aim to bring players in as we need them. Also saying the kids will play this season.
