I refuse to believe that we will not get a couple in before the close. We will be back where we were with a very limited bench. Could cause Emery to explore other opportunities.

There is no way that Paqueta thing is going anywhere.

Agreed; he's a stalking horse for getting the deal done with PSG for Asensio. Anyway, he doesn't play CB.

Leeds also after Hamer from Sheffield Utd in loan, I suspect it's one or the other. And as. Hamer has started as Captain today I reckon Buendia will go.

With Estevao doing his stuff for Chelsea maybe we should make a cheeky lady-minute bid for Palmer 😁

So there’s no direct challenger to Ollie again as it stands.  Marvellous.

Malen and Guessand were purchased as possible cover; agreed no direct replacement (but then it would have to be a younger/ second choice incomer since it's clear that Ollie will be first choice every time).

🚨 NEW: Emi Martínez may come into the equation if there is a change at Al-Nassr — keeper Bento could leave.
@mcgrathmike

Yeah for a £100m maybe

🚨 Senne Lammens is emerging as an option for Aston Villa if they go into the market for a goalkeeper.

Calling a Spanish player 'Costa Fortuna' is ALWAYS funny, though.
Fell out with my mate when Charlton signed Jorge Costa and Quinton Fortune in the 2000's. One of the papers had the headline "Charlton's defence Costa Fortune". My mate said it would work if they had a player called "A"....Charlton's defence Costa A Fortune"....he didn't get it.

Jonathan Fortune I believe.

Hence the famous Charlton defence of Young Fish Costa Fortune.

Virtually ever link indicates we can’t afford what we want and what selling clubs want for their assets.
Feels like it will be a minor miracle to get one in before the deadline.

Bull.

I thought Senne Lammens was joining Man U for €20m to help them out in their relegation battle.

I can see the logic of us wanting him, ideal cover/replacement for Watkins.

No you see, that's good, that's fine. I'm saying people who used to say 'Costa Fortuna', which also doubled as an expensive holiday destination.
