So it was Villarreal not us in for the Georgian.
typical.
FFS can't wait for this window to shut, it's a long weekend over here and I'm looking forward to Tuesday. Depressing as F.

"Emery: "We have some young players. They're training with us. They are ready to help us. We have young players like George, Triston, Jamal, Brad.

"They need time as well to get progressively everything we will need for our demands, but they will play this year matches."

Sounds like we’re not in a rush to sign anyone then, which is fine as we’ve not been in a rush with any of this window, or on the damn pitch for that matter!

He also said that we are still involved in the window as we need to add to the squad.

It’s a weird old game football & particularly transfers where we all let ourselves get frustrated at angry about random social media accounts making up clickbait rumours that are rarely true.  Roll on September 2nd :-)

I for one will be waiting with baited breath for whether there was an interesting nugget of information on the 10.30pm embargoed stuff on press conference day for the media :-)
They're not random

I think he might be thinking of signing some 6 year old from Lithuania.  Might as well for all the time it’s taking us to transition some of the players into the team!

@villareport
🚨 NEW: Georges Mikautadze to Aston Villa links are not true.
@J_Tanswell
 #avfc

FFS

Tanswell has since clarified that no deal has been agreed, rather than there is no truth in our interest. Which doesn't mean we're not interested. It also doesn't mean we're not not interested either. So all that's changed form this morning is that we all now know a little more about a Georgian that we may or may not be interested in.

Hope this clears everything up.

Update: It looks like he's going to Villareal. Was it a case of mixing up the Villas? Were we interested at all? Did we agree terms? Is he any good? We can now go back to not caring about the answer to any of these questions.

Haha.  This transfer window has entered a farcical phase, having already passed through ‘shit’ and ‘depressing’ ones.

bloody rubbish Chinese whispers this

I’m pretty sure this little red square before the word new is a symbol for; you’e about to read another load of bollocks about a transfer deal.

It's getting to the stage where folks are going on flight radar, in desperation, checking for private jets coming into BHX or East Midlands

Chelsea’s interest in Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers is said to be “becoming serious” although they have been quoted with a fee of £80 million ($107.9 million). Tottenham Hotspur are also thought to be closely monitoring the situation. (Source: CaughtOffside)

We may as well give-up if we sell him even if plays like a divvy 30% of the time.

Agreed, they should be on the blacklist. Disasi coming back on loan again would be mental really.

There is no way we’re selling Rogers now. For a whole host of reasons, not least he’s integral to us and his value is only going up.

Sky have just run a snippet on Rogers.  Even though they quote us as saying he's not for sale, they're still trying to perpetuate something to the Sky 6 that will fill their airtime.  They need to do one.

I can't imagine us selling Rogers*, but if we were to, I think that'd genuinely be the end of it for me**, what would be the point even trying any more?

* - clearly I can, because I just have whilst going on to say what the result would be
** - it probably wouldn't, and that's the depressing thing, we keep coming back for more
