We have to announce at least 2 signings before the deadline. The squad is wafer thin and not equipped to handle 4 competitions. I can't believe that Asensio isn't already through the door. Or are finances even worse than we are led to believe? Everything about the close season feels completely flat - contrast 12 months ago when optimism was sky high.

If its true that we're offering £15m and PSG want £20m, that's 5m good reasons he's not through the door yet.

I read Euros Drummond, but either way, £12m will be accepted come 4pm on deadline day

Ah you're probably right, either way that's the reason. He'll be ours.

Separately, I'm hoping Guehi has fucked off by Sunday too.

I'm hoping they all have a severe bout of the shits from some rancid herring in Scandinavia. They've probably got a group of 17 year old kids that are 6ft 3, built like brick shit houses and can run faster than any of ours too though. It's Palace, we will lose.

Seen Liverpool have raised their offer to £40m.

I agree Percy. We're in a funk, but its a very shallow one. We're also playing a longer game and playing it better than most. Next season taps will open, season after we will have a bigger ground and on and on.

Yes this is the season where Unai has to work his magic with what he’s got, and to be fair he does have a good track record in this department even pulling trophies out of the bag

the one thing Unai might have to do, which he doesn’t have a track record for (at Villa ) is blooding young players. We might have a gem in there somewhere.

Young Hemmings looks pretty useful, area seems pretty covered I know, but he will be useful to fill in some of the time.

There was some talk a while ago of the lad from Leicester coming in, Bilal Kharnoussi, sorry for the poor spelling. Crystal Palace were also linked with him but he hasn’t moved yet and I wonder if we’ve already done a deal but are waiting for a couple of players to go out? Barkley and Buendia perhaps.

A real food-chain player. He's currently Spurs' fifth choice after all the other players they preferred told them to sod off.

So right now Spurs are trying to buy players that they think are better than him, meanwhile he doesn't want to sign for (e.g) Crystal Palace because playing for Spurs would be more fun.

So Spurs might spend £50m on their fourth choice, but whoever is their fourth choice thinks there's still a chance that Bayern might firm up their interest so are going to wait.

Spurs now signing their fourth choice attacking midfielder Xavi Simons for around £50m.
