Which in all logic must be down to around £215m now, with all the players gone this summer. So if turnover dropped to £290m, we'd be ok the season after next. The issue I think now is the positive net transfer balance, which I think was particularly harsh as a penalty.  If we can get that one to drop off next summer we'll be in a much better place.

Yep, this is, I think, the real difficulty for us (but then I guess we didn't get our house in order when we were "warned").

Were we really warned? Our punishment is for 2024, the first half of which was our first season in Europe for over a decade. To punish us for that season feels harsh to me.

Weren't we in breach for the first season in Europe too (I thought we were), but let off any punishment presumably because we agreed to get our house in order (which we didn't).

Did any other clubs break the UEFA rules?  I.e. are the precedents we could have seen?

I think we were fined for providing late financial information.

At the end of the day it’s clear where are being punished for having the tumerity to challenge the not very invisible super-league….

Well not really, the thing that’s really troubling us is the UEFA rules/sanctions.

Given the clubs being punished this summer are us, Chelsea, Barcelona, Hajduk Split, Lyon, Panathinaikos, Besiktas and Porto that would suggest this isn't the case.

The fact that they've previously punished Milan, Inter, Marseille, PSG, Roma, Trabzonspor and Antwerp, the variety of clubs being sanctioned would add further evidence they're pretty comfortable punishing anyone.

All this PSR / FFP / SCR talk is sucking all the life out of football for me.

Even our players, manager, Owners and Senior Officials are talking about it at every opportunity so it has to have an effect on the team.

I could imagine the company i work for if i was reading every day that we were in financial shit then i know it would effect my teams performance as they want to know if we are screwed, should they be looking for new jobs etc

Although the actual wages sums are worlds apart the same fears must also rear their heads to players and their families.

Outside the scum money sky 6,  fall into 3 camps.

Us, Newcastle, Forest - who genuinely have resources and want to challenge the top table for Europe and cups - but are seemingly deliberately being held back by regulations

The 3 promoted teams and the likes of Brentford, Wolves who are clinging on to the hope they are not sucked into the relegation battle

Everyone else in the middle who will do just enough to stay in boring mid table mediocrity

Best league in the world? - My Arse - Most corrupt more like

Yeah - this is my feeling - combined with good awful refs / var and pundits I'm really struggling to see the point.  It will all change if we actually score a goal Im sure but it feels a bit of a slog despite us having the best team and set up for at least 20 years.

Spot on!

The super league scared the league into a reaction where they have all but in name secured the top 6 as untouchable(no relegation in the super league) and made sure us up starts know our place.  If anyone dares to compete they get hammered by sanctions whilst the other clubs who have been cheating the system for decades cannot be touched. It's vile!
