If we're allowed 3 on loan who would you get in for the season to fill out the squad. Be realistic, players perhaps current club wants to sell but may struggle to, could they fill out the squad without long-term commitment.

Personally I'd stick in Asensio, Akanji as right-sided CB if he doesn't get sold and Jackson if he's available or Nkunku as we need an alternative to Ollie as it would be suicide not to have a backup striker.

Think (and hope) that a bit of heavy duty negotiating is going on.

Lots of clubs need to move players out - either to bring money in, or thin out squads - so they're under pressure.

We've pretty well done that now (a few late loans and Buendia aside) and like Toon and others need to bring in players.

We've obviously identified players who fill the gaps in the squad. We just need to get the price right.

Loan deals bring mentionrd more and more, and it's not just Villa.

Chelsea and others who need to move players out obviously want to sell and are holding out for the figure(s) they’ve got in mind.

Buying clubs converesly are low-balling them, or looking for loan deals, trying to stay within budgetary,/SCR/PSR constraints.

It's a game of poker, bluff and double bluff.

Who's gonna blink first?

A deal for Buendia could put a few more bob in our spending kitty and enable us to be a bit more proactive.

Reckon we'll be refreshing websites right up until Mondsy teatime.
