Is Illing Junior good enough to stay this year as a squad player or is he going to be off to the championship again ?
Hes our backup right back, right wing, left wing and CF
Yes on our website the current first team squad is 21 and that includes Illing, Buendia and Barkley.

Then again, our Europa League squad is only going to be 21 players too, regardless of anyone else we sign.

Barkley made some good contributions last year.

I’m getting concerned we’ll clear the decks and then leave ourselves short. Surely it’s not get everyone we intend to get out the door before signing anyone. It becomes pretty high risk as time ticks on.

Apart from Ramsey there’s no one else I’m really crying about so far

Seeing Jacob dressed like a magpie last night was a triple punch to the guts, nuts and solar plexus. I will weep over his departure until we bring through an exciting attacking midfielder from the academy that has Villa in his bones and blood. 2037 seems a conservative estimate. Pass the tissues (sad ones, not the happy type).

You’d hope some of our youngsters will get more than just seats on the bench in some of the Europa games…if they don’t play in some of those games they’ll never get a game in the team

I’m quite devastated about Ramsey, but also a little bit gutted about Bailey. I had a soft spot for him, but it was time to move him on. I just wish we had a ready made player stepping into his boots who’s as good as he could be. It seems we have a massive whole now but those players have departed.

All my life as a Villa fan, we’ve had our best players move on to pastures new, now we have owners who if allowed could probably convince players to stay and build on top of this, but we’re forced to sell academy players and decent players and not replacing them before letting them go.

These rules stink.

There was some talk a while ago of the lad from Leicester coming in, Bilal Kharnoussi, sorry for the poor spelling. Crystal Palace were also linked with him but he hasn’t moved yet and I wonder if we’ve already done a deal but are waiting for a couple of players to go out? Barkley and Buendia perhaps.

Watched the second half in the pub last night and felt all of this when he came on. Players come and go, but this felt wrong wrong wrong.

A real food-chain player. He's currently Spurs' fifth choice after all the other players they preferred told them to sod off.

So right now Spurs are trying to buy players that they think are better than him, meanwhile he doesn't want to sign for (e.g) Crystal Palace because playing for Spurs would be more fun.

So Spurs might spend £50m on their fourth choice, but whoever is their fourth choice thinks there's still a chance that Bayern might firm up their interest so are going to wait.

And if Bayern sign that player then Spurs then spend £25m on El Khanouss and Palace move on to, I dunno, someone from Villarreal instead.

And if they don't then Spurs sign that guy and El Khanouss thinks Palace is more fun than Leicester so finally says yes to them on August 30th.

Either way, I'd be very surprised if he ended up here.

El Khanous is going to Spurs I read somewhere. Really good potential and could have been the type when we have huge possession that could do something to open a defence .

So, you’re saying there’s still a chance? 😬

Any idea where Nhouwon Kahpabel is heading? Sort of signing we need.

Isn’t he another attacking player that plays through the middle?

Any truth at all about Villa and Geson Playasin?

Or is just pie in the sky thinking?
