Rumours of Barkley and Buendia going before the deadline now. We need some younger legs to come in and give us some ooooh alongside the guile of Asensio

We need some legs full stop - it’s constantly the out door at the moment.

We wouldn't have legs if they stayed.

Barkley made some good contributions last year.

I’m getting concerned we’ll clear the decks and then leave ourselves short. Surely it’s not get everyone we intend to get out the door before signing anyone. It becomes pretty high risk as time ticks on.

I think we've plenty lined up but need to make sure of outgoings first. I also think that Emery likes to have a relatively small squad, and if that means some academy players get a chance, all the better. If they're good enough he'll keep them, otherwise they'll be worth more just by being in and around the first team squad, And I hate myself for saying that.

Apart from Ramsey there’s no one else I’m really crying about so far

I’m not crying about any of them, but Buendia just played and Barkley played a useful part last season. We do need to be really careful we don’t leave ourselves too much to do.

Barkley goes well simply have to be signing a much younger centre mid that will play more. I would like one in the Fabian Delph mould that could carry the ball and break the lines, but doubt we'll get that

I hope you’re right but I still think they means there’s lots to do. I don’t think there’s anything to suggest we can fairly place much reliance on the academy players.

If these two go then it’s 4 players by cop Monday who need to come in.

I agree Paul, but if we are relying on Beundia we’ve got problems. I don’t think he would of been a regular starter before his injury and he wasn’t even here for most of last season. I’d honestly rather have Bailey around.

I do obviously think he get we need to get some quality in though.

Barkley must have played for a couple of hours in total for the whole of last season ?
We are hardly going to miss him.

If we can offload both him and Beundia before the deadline then the club will have played an absolute blinder in offloading the deadwood and fringe players.

I think we will see 4 in,
2 starters. One kid plus a biggie that we've not considered.
1 that no of us had ever considered at CB
Plus 1 loan challanging for the first team spots. Acensio may be permanent but who knows

Heard nothing since Saturday but beleive if we are clearing the decks to the extent of barkley going we must be making room for a reasonably biggie

He played just shy of 900 minutes across various competitions. So it’s not loads, but equally it’s not nothing for a squad player.

A quick search says he played 913 minutes out of 57 games in total.
I’m not disputing his minutes or numbers though, I’m just suggesting he won’t be missed if we get rid.

Yup. Meanwhile, we’re speculating on the master plan that will definitely / probably /  maybe / looking less likely / break glass in case of emergency / jam tomorrow- be enacted before the window closes.
