Chukwuemeka close to signing for Dortmund so perhaps that gives us a little more financial wriggle room.

Am I missing something?

Should have added, presumed sell on clause.

Happy to share one of these straws I’m clutching.

Can’t find any details of add-ons in the reports of us selling him.

And given sell-on clauses are always on profit made, we'd be looking at a few hundred grand maximum anyway.

Fabio Silva being punted around for €25 million means that that is a baseline for any transfer these days, nobody can be worth less than him. 4 in 62 for Wolves.

Last time we entered the final week of summer in a bit of a panic we signed Soton donkey centre back and Dendoncker. Please don't do something similar again Villa.

That donkey left Winchester for Porto this summer. He has a fine agent.

Do something good please Villa, this has been a painful summer.
"Some people just want it now
It doesn't matter where or how
Satisfaction takes a second place
So long as they can get excited"

A lot of lyrical sense from the Bard of Barking. The obvious constraints on our transfer dealings makes it even more critical that we do the 'right deal' rather more than 'any deal' - even if there would be a brief hit of optimism if we sign one or two players. UTV

We need an injection of positivity this week. Get in Asensio. That would be a massive step forward in just getting back some feel good. Beat Palace, and then somehow grab Jackson and a defender by the deadline. We need to attack from the off this weekend and get the crowd into it. None of this slow slow shit to start the game. All of sudden it will feel better.

Newcastle offering Wolves the chance to double their money on Larsen in the space of a month! Few times I saw him last season you could see he was talented but also timid. The market is just insane.

What's gone wrong with Mainoo does anybody know? Are they looking just to push him out for some PSR reasons? Might find a role for him at Villa Park

Mainoo is a good player, but we’re doing nothing and it’s a position we don’t need.

Apparently, Nicolas Jackson has agreed terms with Bayern Munich.

I don't know, I think a player who can receive the ball in tight areas around the final third and pass it on constructively is useful to anyone. Certainly to us!

My biggest fear, far bigger than losing any particular player, is that Uni decides he has gone as far as he can with us because the restrictions placed on us which seem unlikely to change any time soon. There's no indication that it might happen in the near future but, as an ambitious manager, I  wonder how long his patience will last.
