Mozambique? A new country for CD to go wild about. Is he any cop though?

Eusebio was from Mozambique.

If this guy's as good ... ....

He's a winger (or even wingback) whom that piece from Espen describes as a 'number 10' - hmmm.

Agree Dante, he looks very Bailey part deux, when we need, well, better.

Plays on the right-wing for Aston Villa (4,6)

Apparently Chelsea won't budge on the Jackson loan fee so that is looking very unlikely which is a shame.

Looks like an upgrade on Bailey to me and hopefully isn't made of glass.

The obligatory YouTube clips show him to be the new Messi.
He looks good in those clips, but has he had his right foot amputated, because he doesn’t use it ?

Didn’t know that.
Wasn’t he known as the ‘European Pele’?

Eusebio tends to be forgotten when people talk about the greatest players.

Mozambique was "Portuguese Mozambique" at the time.

On a side note: Eusebio supposedly claimed that Harald Berg was the world's best amateur footballer after a match between Portugal and Norway in 1967 (Norway had no professional league back then).

Harald and his sons Ørjan and Runar, and Ørjan's son Patrick have all played for Bodø/Glimt and for the national team - the first family with three generations representing Norway on a national level.

Nowadays, Patrick is Bodø/Glimt's captain.

Unless someone else comes in for him they will cave at the death because they need him gone. The only way we miss out is if someone else is willing to buy outright or pay the fee and even then they can't force Jackson to accept it. Im convinced he's our player on deadline day.

I think they are waiting on Isak to Liverpool so they can pull the Geordies trousers down on Jackson, if that doesn’t go through expect last minute loan deal to someone.

Agreed. I think Newcastle buy him out right if Isak goes.

Going to be a lot harder this season, even Man Utd have strengthened. I would put Chelsea ahead of Arsenal as a main challenger to City and Pool. I hope i'm wrong but we look far weaker than the second half of last season, we seem to be going after players who I have never heard of.

We had a worse team at the start of last season compared to the beginning of 23/24. And our finish ultimately reflected that.

We are worse again this summer squad-wise compared to the start of 24/25.

We might nick the odd eye catching result in Europe this season. But I don't see us finishing top 4 or even top 6 as things stand.

FFP and all that hoary aul shite didn't force us to sell Douglas Luiz and JJ for well below market value and spunk a small fortune on Onana and Maatsen.

We do seem to have bought quite a few players of the last few years that are miles away from improving our first 11.

Not being flippant but it’s harder to improve on already decent players.

I’ve always advocated buying really decent 20 year olds rather than trying to buy the finished product. A £50m player doesn’t guarantee improvement and can upset the balance of the squad.

you would expect the 90 million on Maatsen Onana would have at least maintained the standard,
