I see no improvement to the squad bringing in 2 players who have barely played 20 games in their careers unless we are looking to make a profit by purely by them having AVFC on their CV’s.

To push on we need quality and experience. Players who are ready for the first team and who are potentially better than what we already have.

Ascensio and Rashford fitted that description last January.

Sadly, we know we are not permitted to bring those types of player in.

In again for Canvot again apparently, I cant see us not landing him now if true.
He seems to be number 1 target for CB.

Canvot
Asencio
Fort
Jackson

That would fill the gaps in the squad nicely i think and be a better balanced squad than the end of last season.
Hemmings breakthrough season as well as Jimoh-Aloba would be nice to see how we go.
Fort for 20, Canvot for 20 ish, Asencio for 20 ish if the rumors are true plus Jackson at 60.

Canvot, Fort and Jackson would cost us 20 million a season in amortized fees if they all have a 5 year contract.
Asencio would cost about 6.7 a season for 3 years.

Totaling 26.7 million a season cost. I would assume their wages would be a lot less than the players that have left combined.

I would be happy with this end to the window all be it i would rather not pay a fee for Asencio.

For PSR it seems ok, but for SCR and the UEFA transfer cost thingy it would put us over the penalty threshold thing wouldn't it?

Guessand has replaced Ramsey, we are being heavily linked with Jackson to replace Rashford/
Canvot is exactly what we need to back up Konsa and to get game time in Europe as we simply don't have 50 million plus to upgrade Konsa. Fort is a risk but didn't he start 20 games for Barca in all competitions last season? so if hes good enough for them why not us?

The figure I saw mentioned for Fort was for a lot less than 20m.

You are right, I think it was 20 million euros

"Their goal is to sell him for around €5m, although things currently suggest he could be sent out on loan."

Talk about West Ham being in advanced negotiations over a season-long loan though.

For 5 million it would be a no brainer and bring the amortized figures right down.  I hope we get players for each of these positions in before the end of the window.

Canvot and Fort sounds like wine you can get £6 off if you use your club card at Tesco.

Free parking for 3 hours.

If Asensio and Jackson are loans it might be doable. Especially if Asensio takes a significant pay cut to come back, which he's rumoured to be willing to do.

Regarding Jackson, Emery does love him and we are in for him - very complicated deal and few others in for him also

Think if it was to happen it would be with an obligation next summer (club prob thinking of offsetting fee next year with exits of ollie etc)

Structure of the loan will be key given our SCR balancing act

🚨 Marco Asensio remains hopeful that Aston Villa, in the final days of the market, will become an active possibility again, with his agent Jorge Mendes tasked with arranging a deal. It is not thought that personal terms would be a problem.

We need a quality RB.
Have done for 4 years.

Right back is like a weird sort of genetic malady we have had for 25 years now.

MON used to buy them and discard them (Habib Beye for example) and play left backs or midfielders there (i reckon 75% of his substitutions involved a midfielder moving to RB - remember Reo-Coker playing there? And usually done to facilitate Steve Sidwell coming on).

Unai seems to see right backs as vitally important to how we play, but then buys them and bins them all the time (Ned, maybe Garcia by the looks of it, maybe Fort coming in) whilst persisting very often with Cash, a mediocre one.
