Nope thanks. Unless again it’s a ridiculous offer.
I'd take £60 million next year and blood Hemmings

I know some people don’t see it in Onana, but if he stays fit he can be a really good player. Hopefully Hemmings can do something but it is a huge step.
There are moments and flashes when he plays but I need to see him put it all together and then do it again and again. I could see us doing a Diaby with Onana, maybe not this summer but next. I think Hemmings being 19 next year could be the time we see him break through.

To be fair, I like Onana and i think he’ll be a great player.
You were selling him 4 minutes ago  ;D

🚨 The Nicolas Jackson deal will depend on Chelsea lowering their demands for a loan fee — Villa can’t get close to what Chelsea are asking.

£10m is the loan fee I've seen. Newcastle may decide to buy him or pay the loan fee, such is their desperation.

Does the loan fee go toward the overall transfer fee?

You would suspect so if there’s an option/obligation to buy.

We’re not spending £60m on him. If it’s anything it’ll be loan with option/obligation to buy I would think.

Got to be a loan.  We cannot afford £60m this year and, to date, he’s not done enough to justify that fee.

Chelsea will need his wage off their booked so it would suit all parties.

I have a feeling we are more hamstrung by PSR than we might have expected this summer.

I just don't get how when we've shed so much wage wise and over the last 18 months sold 280 plus millions with of players.

It can’t be PSR given the dodgy year dropped off and revenue increased so much last season plus sales.

It can’t only be SCR and the UEFA sanction on transfer balances.

If we genuinely can’t get close to a £10m loan fee for our supposed top target (in what is presumably a longer-term purchase agreement) that would suggest a big problem. But who knows if the report is accurate.

Must admit it seems a bit of a puzzle when we’re unloading players and wages out of the squad really quickly. Maybe that’s the plan though, gives us room in the last week in the window to bring in a couple on loans or maybe signed.

Anyway as Ads said earlier UEFA can stick it up their fundament when this years big increases in turnover kick in and our wages fall below the 70%.

On Jackson, it seems like firstly it comes down to whether we can offer Chelsea a financial package they want, which presumably the other clubs in the mix can. Then it’s how much Jackson values the relationship with Unai. Feels unlikely, but who knows.

Weren't we told a few days ago by one of the few on here with any insight that there would be lots of media drip feed to indicate we haven't get a pot to piss in as part of negotiating strategy ?

We might have been better off missing out on Europe this season and having a proper crack at top 5 . These rules are ridiculous.
