Canvot, Asensio and Jackson would give us a squad easily capable of top 8 and the Europa League.

Im our wages to revenue  was 96% we must ahve significantly  got it down  now

Has Monchi been asked how he let it get to that stage in the first place? That was the season we had a deep run into the conference league and a very successful team in the PL, so match day revenues must have been pretty high. Were we paying crazy wages to the likes of Zaniolo and Lenglet?

Did he? Coutinho, Digne, and others were well before Monchi.

I dont think we've taken any steps back. We've successfully cleared the wage bill of low contributors and 1 player we'd have ideally liked to have kept. Such is football.

This is done to create wiggle room. Next summer we'll have more wiggle room as 70% of £360m (let's say) is significantly more than 70% of £275m.

That's how I see it too. Get a couple in this week, and push on next summer.
Yep, agree with all this.

Thinking about it, most of our sales have been loans with obligation / option to buy next summer. I’d suspect we’re aiming to get our house in order this year so that next summer we’re free of UEFA restrictions and have a wedge of cash available to make the most of that fact.

If we get in Jackson, Asensio, and Canvot for example - plus Malen, Guessand, Garcia, and Bizot from earlier this window & January - we will look considerably stronger than we did this time last summer, even without JJ and big Jhon.

It likely would, but it’s got to actually happen.

Good to hear. Was beginning to think Emery didn't rate him.

Yes, pleased about that too, it's unfortunate he has been injured in pre-season as I think he would have been pushing Cash hard by now.  I do think he has something about him.

So what? He was ultimately accountable for the wage bill that season. Coutinho's wages weren't some deep dark secret that he was unaware of. He authorised deals for the likes of Zaniolo and Lenglet when he knew we were already in big trouble. It's his job to be all over the regulations and wage bill.

Me too.  I'm also looking forward to us blooding some youngsters like Bogarde, Garcia and Hemmings.  It'd make a massive difference to our turnover/wage ratio if a couple of them can be considered genuine alternatives next season.

Same.
He looks very strong and athletic....sometimes in the training pics I think "Who's that big bugger?" Surely could do a decent job at CB too?  But looks great going forward.

From what I saw last season Garcia is the best crosser at the club.

Garcia looked a good footballer to me last season.
