Just a hunch this, nothing I have heard or anything else, just gut feeling, I think Newcastle will come in for Ollie within the next few days so they can do the deal with Liverpool for Isak.

They might, but then it has to be £80m + or we’d be insane.
If they can’t/won’t pay what Brentford what for Wissa, with the sale of Isak in mind, it makes no sense that they can or will stump up more for Ollie.
PSR or not, it would also be fooking nuts to sell two of our better players to a direct competitor.

There is zero chance of Watkins a. wanting to go there, b. being sold to them.

More likely they sell Isak and sign both Jackson and Wissa

Bailey suffers injury during first Roma training session

Bailey had his first training session today, but Sky Sport Italia report that at the end of the exercises, he stopped and clutched his leg.

The extent of the problem is not yet clear, but there are already fears he might not be able to make his debut for the Giallorossi until after the break for international duty.

See you back at Villa Park next year

The Athletic reporting that Moreno’s gone on a free to Girona - 2 yr contract with a 30% sell-on.

BUT, he's 32, so that'll be 30% of fuck all.

He was very good when he first came but it was an odd enough signing given he's the same age as Digne. Was never the same player again after his injury.

Not sure how it was odd?
He gave us a different dimension down the left and his fee was minimal.
Maybe it baffled some of to start with but not after he settled in.

He’s pretty quick I think - top recorded pace faster than Malen it looks like.

Did you think the same about Ramsey?

If Ollie was willing to go to Man United, was widely reported Amorim wanted him over Sesko, then I'm not sure why he wouldn't be interested in playing at Newcastle and CL football this season. Whoever they get to eventually replace Isak they will have to pay way over the odds for.

Yeah Jackson is a good player as long as he's not expected to be your main goalscorer. He's much better than he's shown at Chelsea and obviously Emery tried to buy him first window he was here, he's a versatile forward. I doubt we'll get him, but him, Asensio and Canvot, keep Cash, and I'd be ok with this window.

Jackson is also not on anywhere close to the £200k a week being banded about. I'd imagine we're haggling the fee down for Asensio massively to give him a bigger signing on fee to reduce his wage demand too.

I think Barkleys fine - also looking at his injury record - I think it just seems like his injuries only happen when hes with us - the rest of his career isnt bad

Yeah he just wasted most of his career! That's how he ended up with Luton in the first place. He did ok for us last season, on a par with our 50m man and did get a few goals. But you saw with his cameos at the end of the season, if he isn't playing regularly then he loses condition quickly.

He would be better off back at the likes of Everton. They have nobody in midfield that can get turned on the ball and pass it, he can do that and leave the running to somebody else.

I’d rather he was a squad option for us than Everton. As a bench player he’s pretty bloody good.

If anyone would like some insight into footballers' contracts, how they're paid throughout their contracts and why they'd be fucking mental to ever hand in a transfer request, Stan Collymore's Twitter feed is quite interesting this evening.
