Seems to me they’re doing as much as possible to get Asensio and Jackson over the line.

I guess it has to be, as the whole world knows we need to sell, so if we move first, bidders will drop there offers.

Other than Ramsey, no one we have let go has been anywhere near our first team for over a season.

I am confident we'll see two or three come in.

Well Bailey would have. I think there’s a more be general point around resilience to any volume of work injuries too.

Like you say hopefully there will be a few in, but it’s all one way at the moment.

One way traffic at the moment, but I suspect we're clearing the decks so we know exactly how much headroom we've got in terms of PSR and SCR before we start negotiating incomings.

How about:
Canvot - £18m
Asensio - £12m
Jackson - loan

If we do move Matty Cash out, it will have to be for a big enough sum to enable us to bring in a replacement who is an "improvement" and can hit the ground running, and the timing must suit us. He hasn't shown any wish to leave - so any offer from Forest must be sufficiently tempting to him

That’s fine, but those things do actually need to materialise and I’d still be concerned about pace out wide a bit, but maybe Jackson/Guessand fulfill that.

If we sign Jackson and not a back up right sided centre back and or a replacement for Cash we are in trouble!

I have a feeling Watkins will be sold to Newcastle if we sign Jackson.

Doesn't make much sense otherwise.

I thought he had been on Saturday.

Jackson played from out wide before didn’t he? I’d see him as an addition not a replacement for Watkins.

Selling and signing several players for key positions when the season has already started doesn't feel like the best idea. Hopefully potential signings have been sent hours of video of Emery's training sessions and are up to speed immediately

As I type that I realise Asensio has already been here and Jackson has played for him before, so maybe its not as bad as I thought.

There's no way we're selling Watkins unless we get a huge bid. Newcastle want £130/£150m well they'd need to buy two strikers with Wilson having gone too.

They're offering £35m for Wissa, and we'd want £100m from them for Watkins to even contemplate it.

Yes, the movement has all been in one direction but I think that had to be the case. It's only then that we know what we can do.

FWIW the  Telegraph article which mentioned Jackson as a target reported Watkins is definitely not for sale.

Need to see some incomings.

Down to the bare bones in terms of squad strength depth, although I'd move Barkley out - hardkly ever plays, why waste his wages when we could pay somebody else more likely to contribute/increase in value?

Agreed on Barkley, the drop off from Tielemans to him is huge anyway, even if he was fully fit which he rarely is.

Forest signing Luiz instead.

Nah Barkley is a very useful squad player when fit, I know “when fit” is a challenge but he’s a good player.

There was a few times last season when Barkley came off the bench when we needed a goal and he had a positive influence on getting it.
