Jackson sounds like he wants to come and almost did before, to work with Emery.

If we can make it work financially, it could be a good move.

I don’t mind Jackson but if we are super tight on budget then surely a RCB and more flexible attacker have to be ahead on the priority list.

And to Forest, if they get Dougie as well, then they are a definite rival for top 7

Cash would be a big downgrade on their current right-back.

He would but he’d be a solid enough back up for Aina & also a good stand in during AFCON

Do you think moving to be backup for a team that finished below us last season is something he’d be keen on?

5 yr contract & 20k a week wage increase might swing it?

So Forest are going to offer that for a reserve right back?

Guess it depends on what he earns currently, can’t remember if he has had a new contract since signing when we came up?

In reality it is more likely to be an agent planting a story to get a new contract.

Oh I agree, by making it work financially I meant in the context of how much we can spend and what we need.

I have a feeling Watkins will be sold to Newcastle if we sign Jackson.

Forest casually spending another £40-50 million. From the point of being docked points by PSR their net spend is still huge, so even with Europe and that funding, they must be getting additional revenue from somewhere we're not seeing.

Forest in talks with a Sevilla RB, according to Big Fabrizio.

Or heavy losses dropped off their accounts. They'll most likely have been losing loads in the second tier like most clubs do, they're now into PL only money.

I think Forest’s approach is based more around we know that their are rules and we will break them and take our punishment when either the PL or UEFA dish it out.

So...a bit like us then?

Our net spend over 3 seasons compared to theirs makes us look like we're broke.

I've already mentioned that Forest's last 2 sets of accounts showed a £67m loss and a £12m profit. Add in FFP shenanigans and they've got loads of wiggle room. Their turnover in 2024 was £189m and wages £149m which is a ratio of 78%.

Our last 2 sets of accounts have been loss of £85m and loss of £120m on a turnover of £275m and wages of £252m, 91%.

None of this includes last season. Our Champions League season and their finishing 7th hasn't hit the books yet.

And their wage bill is about half of ours.

Even so, the point was that we're not really in a position to judge others for taking a "break the rules and take the punishment" stance, are we?

They must be significantly better than us on wage negotiation.

I got the point, I'm not judging, just trying to get my head round how they can go so big this summer, when 2 summers back they bought in 20 odd players etc.

It was 4 windows ago they bought the 20 players. They then didn't sell Johnson until the window after which is why they lost the 4 points that season. But in theory that splurge is now off the books.
