The market for players does seem very inflated, unless its us selling them.

🚨 NEW: Clubs interested in Nicolas Jackson are being told a loan with obligation may be possible under the right conditions — £10m loan fee.
@JacobsBen
£10m loan fee is way too high, and the wage-demands would push him out of our sphere of interest, I would have thought. I'll be filing this in the same place as the perennial Joao Felix rumours unless there's a fundamental shift in the money-needs of player and Chelsea.

Not if it comes with an option to buy and the sale price is adjusted accordingly.

That Ordonez didn't play for Bruges yesterday.
Not sure if we were actually linked or if whether he was suggested as a good signing.

When I saw the score last night I looked at line ups and was surprised he was an unused sub

If could get Jackson on loan with an option at an agreed price of say £60m that would be a win for us - if his output got anywhere near us wanting to trigger the option he’ll have had a really good season for us.  Not keen on an obligation to buy deal though, he is still too unproven for that for me.

New: Nottingham Forest are exploring a deal to re-sign Matty Cash. #AVFC yet to receive formal approach & have held talks over extending contract, but 28yo among Forest's options to strengthen the right side of defence. Story

That would be a strange move unless a club is interested in taking Ola Aina off them.

We'll have to move to Power League at this rate.

Still, as much as I like Cash and think he's been an excellent signing all round, I'm sick to death of seeing him tread his familiar path up the right wing only to cut back and pass inside or attempt a poor and easily cut out cross, and frankly would have rage-cancelled his contract at half time in the last game of last season.

Can 100% see the logic in selling Cash, my concern would be we’ve had 2 attempts at replacing him already and neither have really worked out (yet) - if he is replaced it has to work out this time.

I love Cash’s attitude and he is a decent player, not good enough on the ball to truly flourish in Unai’s way of playing but still a very decent player.

Selling him at this point in the window wouldn't make much sense though, we'd then need to get two right sided defenders in.  I guess he would be pure profit though?

And to Forest, if they get Dougie as well, then they are a definite rival for top 7

So who plays right back? There are clearly better players out there but unless we’ve got somebody ready to start for us lined up it would be madness to let him go.

I thought Garcia had really started to settle and put in some good performances before Cash got back into the team.
He’s (Garcia) never had extended run, and I don’t think that’s because he is deemed not good enough.

Bogarde, Konsa and Garcia can all cover that position. None of them are worse than Cash.

I think what’s more important is having someone of real quality playing on front of the right back, and that where we have struggled for sometime.

The whole of our right hand side is very weak in comparison to the left where we are blessed with real quality.
