I thought Bailey did okay, and first touch better than usual

We’re through to an FA Cup quarter final for the first time in way too long, I’ll take that.

Maatsen played well and Bogarde has been quietly very impressive for weeks now, playing in different positions all the time.

Just a mention for their left back. Only 18 and ok, he had help most of the time but he seemed to do quite well.

Our defence had a night off for once, Bailey still a big fail for me, Ascensio is brilliant and the lad coming on had a very good cameo.

Agreed, Ascensio is top notch. Garcia is a bloody brilliant signing and Bogarde was great too. Ok it was Cardiff, but still. Bailey just keeps running into dead ends and has a no idea what to do with ball.

One of those no win games.

Pretty boring for the most part but we were always in control and should've been two up in first half.

Felt we'd eventually score and get through comfortably so low energy effort which was much needed before CL resumption.

Could really do with a home draw in next round aswell as most of what is left in the competition are pretty much all nightmare aways for us year in year out in the prem so FA Cup heats up, watch us get Palace away again.

It just needed the first goal and then it was all over. Nice to keep a clean sheet and to be able to sit and watch the rest of the ties knowing we are still in it.

Of the teams left and if results go as on paper, the PNE / Burnley match will be the draw that will probably go to Manure, but would be the easiest.

Their keeper looks a few notches above Olsen. Perhaps one to look at.

Former USA international (it reads) somehow playing for a team struggling to stay in the Championship.

But then Olsen is a Swedish international, apparently. So not sure if that's much of a yardstick anymore.

Can only assume Olsen's rival for the Svenska gig is Trigger's brush and a pack of soggy biscuits.

Wasn’t it wonderful seeing El Ghazi back at Villa Park.
Class how appreciative our supporters were of him. Fondly remembered.

He gets the reception that perhaps Grealish hoped for when he came back (outside of staff and players) I never saw Jack get same love with everyone applauding from holte north and whole ground standing but maybe that did happen ?
Most telling I remember on his first appearance back everyone standing singing and chanting Villa tie I die to quite the crescendo

Waste of time looking at a keeper who played well against us, because you can guarantee in any other match they are throwing them in.

both emotional times though

Anwar today could see it
Jack waiting to come on could feel it

I loved that team under Dean Smith that won promotion

I think if won FA cup , Champions League or the League only team that I would be more fond of but not even sure could be.

McGinn was a delight and enjoyed Abraham ever so much.
The last time we beat Cardiff Grealish scores.
Good times

i’ll have to stop thinking about all that now!
great times though weren’t they just?!
