There's no point playing out from the back when you're 3-1 down. They will be happy just to let you tick the seconds down in your own half

No Kamara, Torres or Mings. That's the issue.

No Barkley or Onana just compounds the fact the that the spine of our team is hugely weakened. Martinez off as well just doesn't help.

The defence has been shit in the league all season regardless of who was in defence and goal.
Conceding 2 a game confirms this.

We just need Konsa back at RB or something

Bailey is mostly rubbish

In an unorthodox position I was expecting worse. He’s tracked back well and offered something going forward.

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten that Palace had a woeful home record this season. They've won 2. Today they could have scored enough to win 6.

Forget the league now. Just channel everything into the cups.

If you can put a performance in like this in such a crucial game to win, I wouldn't be surprised if this time next week we are out of both cups.

I actually feel sorry for Olsen.  We always play like this when he has to come in.
He is part of it.

He hasn't done a lot wrong tonight.  And certainly hasn't caused us to play like we are.

Emery having a nightmare tonight. What is our setup at the back...Bailey kind of RWB but not really. Three centre backs marking nobody and Digne lost, utterly lost on left.

Totally agree. Tactics all wrong by Emery.

As soon as I saw we were playing 3/5 at the back I knew the game was lost. It's a desperate measure to try and improve a defence by adding players rather than correcting mistakes

We don't have a CDM available though. I think he was trying to find a solution to that problem and threw off our balance a bit. Hopefully this is a wake-up call for Friday.

This fixture build up is absolute bull.

We could have just played Bogarde there. I think from what he's shown that it's probably his best position.

Bogarde has been horribly out of his depth tonight. But what was possibly going through Emery's head that he landed on playing him right of a 3!

And Carlos in the centre.

Sometimes Konsa is great. But if everything isn’t ok he won’t be the one to take ownership. He’ll point and blame others.

But I’d say tonight is on the coaching staff. The formation is all over the shop.

The CL tie is over two legs so that would be difficult.

Only the bottom 5 have conceded more, it's not just down to the personel.

Olsen could have caught and iced that ball before he came down.

Our snail-paced football this season means he's usually marked by multiple players when he gets it.

This is a shit show on so many fronts:

Selection
Formation
Individually
Collectively
Officiating
VAR

Little to be positive about.
