The away fans rammed off in the upper north with the first 10 or so rows blanked off worked better than giving away all the Witton upper .

How much of the Doug Ellis did they get?

JJ is not a natural finisher, on replaying all his chances he kept his eyes on the ball all through the strike, he had no awareness of the positioning of the keeper and hit the ball straight at him. He did well in general play but he has to learn the art.
I think he was a very good finisher before his injury - always found the corner and rarely fluffed a chance - I think some of it is part of him getting his confidence / match fittness.

The position he plays he tends to find most of his chances fall on his weaker foot. I still think he's a half decent finisher. One of my favourite current players.

Yep, he needs to work on his left peg a bit. That's the problem with the fashion for players playing on the opposite side to their stronger foot. Cutting-in works well but running onto a ball on your weak side will show up in your crap shots.

Some great football was witnessed tonight and I can wait to watch them again. That little link up with Asensio and Rogers was sublime. The back heel was just in font of me and there was an audible gasp from the crowd. If only Rogers had put that in the back of the net we'd be talking about that goal for years to come. Ipswich up next. Bring our A game and we should bag the 3 points. We need to improve our GD which currently stands at -3 . It's a minor miracle that we're still in touching distance of top four.

There was the other move after where Ramsey was clean through that was sensational, we'd popped it around in our own box and then cut through them like a ribbon, it deserved a much better finish from a player that's more than capable of it.
Yeah that was a great move which was crying out for a Thierry Henry style drop of the shoulder to send the keeper one way leaving a gaping goal to smash the ball into. I'd really love our strikers to work on one on one's.

Of their squad i think I'd take ven der ven, Kulusevski, Bissouma (personal life aside) and possibly Bentancour.
Van der van and Kulusevski, maybe Porrow.
I think only Van der Ven would be a significant step up for us. The other three wouldn’t be. They’re no better than what we have already

On the TV it looked like they had the normal away upper in the DE plus the North upper.

2019 - Spurs played in the CL final we played in the Division 2 playoff final. A lot can change in 5/6 years.

I was there on the opening day a few months later enjoying the corporate in the gleaming new stadium, they had a £65m new signing (that they've just given away) and it felt like we were light years away from ever competing with them again.

They paid more for a player than our owners paid for our club.

Who was that?

I'm presuming the player being referred to is Ndombole who cost them £62m in 2019.

In 2016, Xia bought us for £76 million from Randy Lerner.

In July 2018, NSWE purchased a 55% controlling stake worth £30m and bought the other 45% a bit after that.

Was that the best domestic cup performance since the Liverpool semi-final in 2015? (and was it better than that?)

I was on the Holte yesterday. I almost wanted the game to go into extra time, just to see more of Asensio, Rogers and Rashford combining. Ah well, I'll just have to wait until Saturday.
Yes it was a bit special when those boys came on at 2-0. But this was a good place against a pathetic team now let's see how they do if we are up against it on Saturday and need a goal.

Not comparable IMO. Liverpool was better simply because they were odds on to win, not a broken team and had Coutinho and Gerrard were driving their attacks. Yesterday it was a game we should have won and did win although made hard work of it  by missing loads of chances.

So curious why they did it like that for Spurs and not West Ham?  Lesson learned or different allocation?

Hi Spurs fans

Home from the match and just thought I’d offer my opinion from the other side of the fence.

Firstly, great turn out from your fans for a rubbish kick off time on a Sunday for away fans.

Watching your match on Thursday, it was obvious confidence was going to be low if we could make a quick start which is exactly the way it played out.

Obviously a lot of injuries hitting both teams hard didn’t help and appreciate that you could have put out a different eleven.

First half we created chances galore that we squandered and always a worry when there’s only a goal in it.

Knew we would concede (it’s the Villa way) but fortunately for us too late in the day to make much of a difference.

Having witnessed us getting pummelled by 4 the last 2 times we have played you, it’s obvious that a fully fit Spurs squad is a different animal to the one I’ve seen today. Also, confidence looks shot.

Not sure if your problem is the injuries, Ange, Levy or a combination of all 3.

Still could be an exciting season if you can get everyone back in time for the knock out rounds in the Europa League. All the best for the rest of the season.

honestly I don't see many of that team I'd be interested in, Van der Ven would be good and Kulusevski maybe (but I'd rather keep Asensio) but after I don't think anyone else would near our best 11 and a fair few wouldn't get on the bench if we have everyone fit.
