Selling and Transferring tickets
« on: January 28, 2025, 03:07:20 PM »
How are people doing this safely?

I want to give my wife's Celtic ticket to a close pal with fan id.  Club won't allow this. Season ticket or members only.

Could he log in to my wife's app?  Is it worth the risk?

Failing that, the club don't want tickets back as not refundable, yet must be a queue of people who want these tickets?

I transferred tickets for the Celtic and Bologna games - to Villa fans with IDs BTW. Why won't they re-allocate them?

After a long wait I was told they had to be members or season ticket holders.

I do wonder if I spoke to someone else I might get a different answer.

We do it quite a lot for various health and age reasons.

You can transfer a ticket as long as the person has a fan ID.

I've also done it for Celtic... so the answer you have been given seems odd.

I guess they're on edge because of Celtic fans trying to get tickets in the home end.  Try asking on the Twitter/X @AVFCSupport account.  DM them, say your wife's ill and can they transfer it to your mate.  Provide the new fan ID in your DM.

OK, I called again and as the tickets sold out when available to members, thats the criteria for transferring tickets.

So short of my mate using my wifes login which worries me due to hightened security...I might well have 2 tickets for sale.....but they would need to be member or season ticket holder.

I'm going to keep quiet about mine then as the fan ID is definitely not a member.

This was the response from the twitter account. At least it’s consistent.

Hi. We can confirm that tickets can be transferred if you are no longer able to attend the Celtic match.

Tickets can be transferred by calling the ticket office on 0333 323 1874. Phone lines are open until 5pm.

Please note that the supporter wishing to attend must be eligible in the current sales window, which is members or a season ticket holder.

Managed to log family member in to wife’s app and download the ticket. A little nervous about accessing stadium. My wife isn’t a 6’6 man!!

Could you find someone who is a ST holder or member, but not going to the game?
Once tickets are transferred, you seem to be able to forward them to whoever you like.
So maybe you could officially transfer them to someone who qualifies, then unofficially transfer them onwards?
This is how it works when I transfer my season ticket. They send the transferable ticket to me in the name of the person I'm transferring it to, then I send it to the person I'm transferring it to, ((but could actually send it to anyone).
I am not 100% sure it would go the same in a match by match ticket though?

How did this go? I bought 2 tickets for Ipswich. One is on my ID and the other is on my mum’s. But that 2nd ticket is for my 7 year old lad who doesn’t have an ID. It’s his first game and we are driving 3 hours up from Kent. The thought of us not getting in breaks my heart.
