The Spurs deal was a loan too, so I don't know. I assumed we were buying because we need someone who can play now and he won't be able to play 2 of our next 3.

Depending on how you classify "senior players", we've got quite a few out on loan ourselves.  If it means "has a first team appearance for the club", then it's:

Dendoncker
Coutinho
Buendia
Nedelkovic
Moreno
Kesler-Hayden
Gauci

And you could argue both Illing-Junior and Dobbin also count as "senior players" given their top-flight experience at other clubs.

My guess is the "maximum loans" thing was related to us not being able to take another loan after Rashford and Asensio.
