Should Auld aquantence be forgot
« on: December 31, 2024, 12:10:17 PM »
Its that time of the year when news outlets, look back at the events of the year
Most of us reflect on what was, what could have been, and what we wish had not been.
But what about those posters who seem to have disappeared,
The two that come to my mind, Brian Green, Bad English both who's posts I enjoyed
Who else, and any news on these two ?

This is hardly in the spirit of Auld Lang Syne, but... As an only occasional poster but avid lurker/reader since 2008 (0.154 posts per day apparently) I come on here less and less, thanks in no small part to the seemingly endless shite posted by two particular forum members, one of whom is alleged to be a banned returner. Their Intellectually challenged stream-of-unconsciousness written pollution - think Fabricant & Dorries in claret and blue scarves - is such that if I cannot be fooked to wade through it why on earth should the *real* lifers - BE and others - be expected to?

H&V has for so long had an atmosphere of fraternal/sororal conviviality that has proven time again to be a safe place for me and others. Yet I've pretty much had it as things stand.

I wish all who read this a HNY and a better 2025.

Paddy, Rory, Monty, CDBWF, Perce, Dave Mod et al - thank you for being the only thing that keeps me here.

ETA: Did I just quote Jacob Rees-Mogg? Ugh. That's how bad things are.

I think it's been noticeably less antagonistic on here just lately.

Happy New Year Rodders,

could the 2 posters be the same person?

I did think this at one point but I remember one specific conversation making me realise they are not. I can't remember that conversation, mind, but it did hit me.
