Not really disputing the overarching point, and I don’t think he does drop a clanger every game either, but a player could make a glaring error in every game and still be in a defence that keeps clean sheets.

They could, but I don’t care about inconsequential mistakes.

Mings should be starting this one . Cash being suspended does throw a curveball into the decision making process though . Let's see .
I'd also get the armband back to Mings asap and let McGinn focus on his game (won't happen though )

Well it might only be inconsequential because of someone else’s intervention - be that attacking error or defensive excellence. Point being clean sheets are a good proxy but they aren’t necessarily representative of an individual defender being infallible or not making the odd big error a game. I wouldn’t call it out but you’re presenting it in a very binary way. Conversely I’d say our lack of clean sheets doesn’t mean Digne isn’t having very good season defensively (for example).

All I know is that Joao Pedro will score for them just to rub salt into the red card wounds.

Mings wont start as konsa will be at right back so it will be carlos and pau at cb.

4-2

Watkins hat trick & Rogers

2 awful defensive errors to gift them goals.

My six year old lad’s first ever game this evening. Make it a memorable one please Villa.

Brighton haven’t been great lately, our home form is pretty decent, should be a comfortable home win a la Brentford.

3-1 Villa.

I suspect it’ll be very different to Brentford, in that Brighton will attack in a way that will stress us more.

I think that's definitely the most likely, but Emery has thrown in RB curveballs before (Ned / Bogarde).

I wouldn't be completely shocked if he chucks Ned in. Different circumstances obviously, but it was him that came on for Cash on Boxing Day rather than DC.

Hope you both have a wonderful time. My lad of the same age is doing his third against Leicester and he loved the first two. Late Bournemouth equaliser notwithstanding.

That would be risky against Mitoma

It would, but that doesn't mean he definitely won't do it. It would have been less risky to do Konsa - DC - Torres - Digne against Everton, but Bogarde still got 90 minutes while DC stayed on the bench.

Like I say, I think Konsa is more likely - but Ned's (and Bogarde for that matter) in the squad rather than out on loan because Emery clearly thinks he's capable of playing when needed.
