Yes Blues fans its that easy. Even if you build the stadium what manager is gonna achieve this for you?

It’s the Manager
It’s the players
It’s the owners
It’s the right commercial team
It’s the right sponsors
It’s the stadium
Etc etc etc

Get all that right and coming from where they are you’re talking a minimum of 10 years to get even remotely close to being in the top 6, let alone winning a trophy or consistently qualifying for the Champions League. Building a stadium won’t do it you have to have every other bit right as well.

For me, all that starts with the owners, as you’ve said. I get the impression our owners are just good at everything. Seriously smart and relentless winners. Blues’ owners are just like all those other American investors who don’t understand the game at all.

Yes, I know we have part American owners but Nas seems to be the main man. Different breed.

Need 1 to finish 4
Would love Bournemouth to beat mancity on Tuesday so that they have nothing to play for on Sunday.

Pah, who needs that when you've got Craig Gardner runnin' tings?

A note of caution from SHA

Quote
The present is theirs. The future is ours. McGinn is 32 soon. Emery will go to a bigger club. Their team will break up, fall into mid-table. We're building something that's never been seen before. Hold fast guys , we'll get ours.

Have they started telling themselves that them winning the League Cup 15 years ago was a bigger achievement than if we win the Europa League yet?  Fully expecting that one to be trotted out over the coming days.

That said, they are a complete irrelevance to us at the moment.

I'd say in order of significance for trophies:

Champions League
Premier League
FA Cup
Europa League
League Cup
Conference League

Maybe switch Europa and FA Cup?

But yes they have never been more irrelevant than they are at present.

I feel quite emotional by us getting over the line, it's felt a real uphill battle at times this season, so well deserved. Unai is a genius!
Completely agree - this one feels like its been achieved by being pure bloody minded
Such a relief to do it, especially after the Nightmare at Old Trafford last season...
Yes, when you think that missing out on CL on goal difference last season is the only reason we haven’t qualified for the CL three seasons in a row, it is intensely frustrating. However, that meant we qualified for a competition we were more likely to win, so if we are successful on Wednesday, it will make it all worthwhile.

OMG. I bet Unai planned it that way. I bet he told Emi to rush out and get sent off. He saw all this way before everyone else. It all makes sense now

I don’t think we can kid ourselves that not qualifying for the CL last season did not hurt the club, massively.

Financially for sure, but if we win a trophy on Wednesday, it will have worked out pretty well.

And the club will make quite a bit on commemorative merch!

England has loads of clubs with big stadiums who have won nothing for years. Some of them have had decent owners and managers too. If only it was that simple.
Having to work within the current financial regulations will stop them being able to attract top players, and let's be honest would they rather go to Man Utd or Blues.
They are a generation away from doing anything of note, and that's being kind.

If we finish 5th, do we have to go through a qualifying round to get into the group stage of the CL?

And if we do, when would that be? Obviously it better to not have that jeopardy or the disruption to pre-season preparations, particularly when many of players will have time off after the World Cup. UTV

No. All English teams straight into League stage.
