Will we qualify for the CL?

I get the young players being good enough to blood etc but when you see the impact or lack of the likes of Sancho, Guessand, Elliot, Bailey and Doug have had and the money that we’ve wasted it’s not inconceivable that players that we already owned could have done just as good a job.

We spunked £15/20m on 2 teenagers one of which can’t even play in the country for a few years. Would we have been better keeping our powder dry and going for a player a bit further along with his development. Tanswell reckons we showed interest in Rayan at Bournemouth who was a bit more than the combined fee we paid for the two players.

Although Bournemouth could offer starts which we couldn't gurantee.

Plenty of average teams in the EL for getting experience that we wasted on likes of Sancho and paid 200k a week for that privilege. Guessand, Elliot - that's three disastrous deals.

Azaz looks to be the one that we let get away too easily. I guess Emery can ultimately point to Aaron Ramsey and Archer and say his judgement has been vindicated. I'll never agree that selling JJ was worth it or had to be done. Still haven't replaced him!

After Sunderland (33 games) we were ten points clear of 6th.  The drop off has been awful.

Our current league form is woeful, I hope Unai can remedy this over the 2 games, because going into next season on the back of a terrible end to the season could very well have dreadful impact.

Since winning at Newcastle in Jan we've won 3 league games out of 13. Even average form would have had us comfortable in 4th and able to think only about the final.
