The bottom line is if we don't win anything then this group simply wasn't good enough. Either mentally or physically. Multiple opportunities and multiple failings. There's no other reason or excuse than not being good enough. I'd like to think this is their last hurrah and we'll all be celebrating something special by the end of May. If not, then it's not Emery's fault, it's not Monchi's fault it's not luck or VAR. They just didn't have it in them. I'm at peace with that.

We're back in to 1/40 to finish top 5. Bournemouth are now 19/1 and Brentford are 66/1. I assume that's because of jittery H&Vers.

I get your sentiment, however, those responsible for recent transfer activity have a few questions to answer, starting with Guessand Sancho.

Fucking hell, if transfer activity is advancing to merging two individuals together I hope we are more selective with the individuals involved…

For an outlay of £50 (which I admit is a lot but not as much as a ticket to see us stink the place out on Sunday) I will be at least £500 to the good if we somehow fuck up 5th from here. Bets on all three remaining chasers getting that spot.

I’m imagining a couple of bonus scenarios. 1) we finish 6th but win the Europa. 2) It is Liverpool who slip to 6th not us. Money and joy combined!

Bournemouth might not win away to Fulham and then lose to Man City.

Brentford have a tough run-in.

Brighton presumably beat Wolves but then have Leeds away and Man United at home.

There's a chance we've already got the points we need.

For any of those worrying that the whole world hate us - spoke to a Bournmouth Season Ticket holder today and they are desperate for us to win the Europa league.

There plan is we finish 5th and win Europa - they finish 6.  They think it is unlikely that they would catch us to qualify in 5th.

They seem to have more faith in us than wedo

Also thought - isnt there a good chance that us v liverpool turns out to be a game where a draw means both of us qualify?

Now that is a boring, no-shots, no tackles game I could get behind.

We can definately do the no shots  and no tackles, but would Liverpool join in?

Let Harvey play a half for both sides , scoring a hattrick for each team.

I said about a week or so that we'll limp over the line and I stand by that. Can't see us getting the result on Thursday so I reckon we'll get an odd goal win at Burnley.

As someone said to me yesterday, "I haven't seen any team have such a defeatist attitude and such a bad run of results going into a big game since Villa in the 1994 League Cup final."

I still have my “Southampton I stayed to the end” badge.

Brighton won’t be, but if Brentford and Bournemouth could go today that’d be handy
