I wonder if them reaching safety after a tumultuous season may actually lead them to subconciously turn off a bit.

No chance they turn off with a trophy and CL place up for grabs.

The thing with Spurs is that they ought to be a competitor and with a hand decent manager, would be up there challenging because of their relative amount of £ in comparison with other clubs.  That's just one of the many reasons why they really should do the decent thing and just get relegated.

They might not think they will, but that's why I mentioned the 'subconciously' bit.

I'm thinking how sometimes teams that steamroller their leagues then struggle a bit to get the intensity up again. Plus they're a bit shit.

Being honest we need their short term revenues to take a hit. It could cut it in half for next season. Still very high (300m) but well behind ours for a season at least.

I want Spurs to go down.

It will be harder for Blues to come up.

Spurs took one of our transfer targets in January (thankfully).

If they stay up, they will still sadly be allowed to spend way money than us and could easily sway other potential targets with more money and the bright lights of London to placate their WAGs (good choice Conor, hope your missus is enjoying her brunches with her mates whilst you get slapped every week).

The club know this, I have zero doubts we will try to win that game to get them down.

This is my thinking too, Unai is too smart to let an opportunity like this pass. No guarantee we will win of course, but it wont be down to lack of trying on our part.

I think it’s a bit shortsighted not to actively want to help Spurs go down. They have been rubbish for a couple of years, but if they get stuff remotely right they are absolutely a competitor for us. Them going down could really set them back and would be very useful for us.
