Would love to see us target 69+ points. Would be our highest since 92/93. Third in league and win the EL. Why not?

For me, aiming for 3rd is more about focusing on the hoped direction of travel rather than fretting about being caught by others. Plus it would break new ground for Unai, which could be a factor in keeping him interested.

That being said, I agree of course with the broad priorities set out above, as and when we may need to prioritise.

With a fair wind, 5th could be ours this time next week, I think?

We're 33/1 on to finish top 5. I'm feeling fairly confident.

How would an interested punter lay this bet. For some inexplicable reason, I am banned from Betfair. I’ve literally never had an account with them and assume I am the victim of some sort of cyber thingy. Are there other places I can bet on us not getting it?

Smarkets or Matchbook are for laying bets.

I'm sticking with no one below Liverpool will reach 61 points. ManU winning was great for us. While 3rd would be nice top 5 is far far more important. We finished miles ahead of ManU last season, do people think about the glory of that or how missing out on the CL cost us massively.

And the sooner CL qualification is wrapped up the sooner we can focus on getting the squad into the best possible shape to win our first trophy for 30 years.

Agreed.

3rd or 4th, who cares?

I mostly want us to win the Europa, but we never win anything, so 3rd/4th/5th, whatever. As long as we qualify.

Yep, agree with that.  Would be nice to have a Champions League place sewn up going into the Forest games and a win today would go some way towards that.

Brighton will go above Chelsea if they beat them on Tuesday.  As others have said, win tomorrow, and we would only need 1 win and 1 draw from our last 5 games to leave Chelsea needing 5 wins from 5 to overtake us.

Massive result tonight, and a huge opportunity to put one foot in the CL tomorrow.
Everton go two points clear of Chelsea if they beat Liverpool today, which is perfectly feasible. I honestly can see a situation where Chelsea don’t qualify for any European competition, finishing about 8th.

Is it weird that I'm more excited about the prospect of the big money than actually participating in the competition itself?

I am hopeful we're done and dusted for 4th by Liverpool so if we're through to the final, we can properly prepare.

I'd be like that if someone offered me a job as a lawyer.

I honestly think we're in prime condition and we're going to batter our way through to end of the season.

I don't want to tempt fate, but I've got a similar feeling. If we can come away from Forest with a positive result, the next month could be absolutely marvellous.

Getting way ahead of myself but already excited about next season. Have a feeling if Man City win league this year, Pep, might hang his boots up (what else has he got to prove) and Arteta might get the boot (fickle Arses fans). With Chelski, L'Pool, Newcastle and Man Utd having managerial issues and Spuds in turmoil we could be the most settled club in the league.

We have Unai Emery. Fantastic.

Anyways, back to he real world. First things first.

I hope the players are really up for this, they bloody well should be. I want to hear the Holte in full voice all game, the money it brings, the players it will attract, the new supporters that sign on. I wonder whether Buendia will start as he made such an inpact in the second half Emery may decide we need to keep him fresh if it becomes a battle.

You can still get 7/4 on us finishing outside the top four.
