Everton still have Liverpool to play at home and a decent run-in. It would be funny if they pipped them and Chelsea to 5th.

Pah, Weetabix is for men that can't handle Flahavan's porridge oats.

I decided today that I'd give oats another try. Will report back.

Specifically Flahavan's, though. King of oats.

Done deal. We're in the CL.

Hoping this is one of PWS’ communiques from the future. A bit further in the future than normal, but perhaps he has been tweaking his Time Machine?

Forest (A)
Sunderland (H)
Fulham (A)
Spurs (H)
Burnley (A)
Liverpool (H)
ManC (A)
We still need to win 3 games.

Also important to look at what Liverpool and Chelsea have. It won’t be easy for either of them in current form. They’ll need to improve drastically to bridge the gap to us. And in any case we are going after 3rd.

Liverpool

Fulham H
Everton A
Palace H
Man U A
Chelsea H
Villa A
Brentford H

Chelsea

Man City H
Man U H
Brighton A
Forest H
Liverpool A
Spurs H
Sunderland A
It looks less likely that Chelsea can put a run together based on those fixtures.
I can see Liverpool winning their home games, then it would be down to the match with us.

4 wins will do it. That's 66, which seems low but Liverpool and Chelsea's max is 70 and 69 and they play one another - so that makes it 70 and 66 or 67 and 69 - and neither look likely to win 6 out of 7.

No, no, Scott's.

After weekend I firmly believe we're 3 wins away from being guaranteed top 5 and CL.

I keep running through Liverpool and Chelsea's fixtures and I'd be suprised if both got too or exceeded 60.

I still think that two wins and a draw could potentially be enough for fifth. Chelsea don't look like they're about to win four of their last seven, three of which are Liverpool, Man City and Man Utd. Three wins from here definitely will be.

So let's just smash three wins from our next three and then put all our eggs into the European basket.

It is useful that Liverpool and Chelsea have to play each other still. I mean, there is just that ominous feeling, a bit like when you're rooting for someone against Djokovic or Nadal or Federer, that old habits are about to kick in and they're going to start reeling off games, that at some point that has to happen.

But hey, in terms of our head-to-heads, even after our slough of despond run we're still one-each with Chelsea and Man Utd for the season, with Liverpool the only thumb sticking out in our record against our rivals for the year. So it's not a surprise that one good weekend was enough for us to feel once again a little daylight on our backs. Another couple of good ones, and who knows, that really might be enough.

18th / 19th April feels like a big weekend. Us home to Sunderland, Chelsea home to Man Utd, Liverpool away at Everton.

Three positive results for us in those games and I reckon it'll feel very comfortable.

Honestly, if all results went our way that weekend Everton would be looking at 5th...

They are cock a hoop at the minute. Rightly so. Can you imagine if they stopped Liverpool finishing 5th having spent about of 10th on transfers last summer

I've just predicted every result between now and the end of the season and have arrived at the below. I'm a miserable pessimistic bastard so if even I've got us in the top 5 then there is nothing to worry about.

4. Liverpool 65
5. Aston Villa 65
6. Chelsea 62

3rd is still very much up for grabs
Yeah, I think so too.  If this is the end of our 'dip', we should be looking up not down.

Liverpool & Chelsea will, or at least should, be more concerned about whether they'll get in to the Champions League at all.

I don't think Liverpool manage 65 points from the fixtures they've got.

Fulham isn't easy on the back of a midweek game away at PSG, I can see thme dropping points there.
Everton is always a big game for thgem, and again it follows a midweek PSG game, a draw or a defeat for me.
Palace they should win.
Away at ManU is tough for them and I can't see them winning it.
I think they'll beat Chelsea.
I think we'll get at least a point against them.
Brentford will be the sort of irrelevant last day match where anything can happen.

I think they'll be on 58-60 points going into the last game.

For balance I reckon Chelsea will be more like 55-57 points and very nervous about Brentford and Everton for that weekend.
