Dim-witted conspiracy cranks abounded in Sexual's Norfolk late-youth so hopefully he cuts you some slack here.

You're both right tbh. We needed a new front line in the summer, as did Man United. They went and bought one. We weren't allowed. We have also just blown our buffer against teams we should be beating, especially at home, whilst playing like a load of shit.

If Chelsea lose this it all sits on the midweek game. We need to win it too. Nine points we might get away with the huge shift in momentum for all four competing teams, three points we aren't. Don't think six will be enough either.

Don't know how we're going to win, but it needs to happen.

I'd say Wednesday is a must not lose rather than a must win. Chelsea have some very tough fixtures remaining. I reckon we'd be slight favourites to finish above them if the gap is six points after Wednesday.

I wouldn't argue against that tbh. Suppose it depends how badly you think we've shat the bed/how strong you think Chelsea are. I wouldn't feel comfortable with six at all, but yeah, might be enough.

Right so in spite of fluffing our lines multiple times of late another opportunity presents itself.

It’s remarkable really. Don’t be fucking rubbish Villa.

Bottom line is this. It's a 10 game league now for 3 CL places with 4/5 teams in the running.

We play attacking positive football with a decent tempo, we have a chance but we continue with playing turgid shite and sticking with woefully out of form players, with the hope that we may nick a spectacular goal, and we have no chance.

I have you absolutely right.

Having watched Chelsea today and us in the last half a dozen games, I just can't see us beating them in all honesty. I think our only chance is to grind out a scruffy 0 0 where nothing happpens.

That would give us a 6 point cushion and with their difficult run in, we would still have half a chance. However, even then we will have to pull our finger out and improve massively.

We lose and we are done.

What you're saying is the opposite to the post you're quoting. Timidly playing for a 0-0 is not the solution.

Looking at ours and Chelsea fixtures, I reckon we'll have CL wrapped up after the Burnley game (when Chelsea play Liverpool away).

Just need to not lose to them Wednesday...

I'm not suggesting we go out and play timidly. I am saying that based on current form I can't see anyway that we win.

I am hoping Chelsea come out really flat and throw in a poor peerformance which they tend to do now and again, (i.e. Leeds away early in the season).

If they play like they did today they will beat us beacuse they have better players in midfield and in attack.

I'll say we're done when we're in 6th place, 4 points behind 5th with 1 game to play.
Till then we're not done.

6th place and Chelsea or Liverpool win the European Cup and finish exactly 5th and we would still qualify, I think.

Shame they are on the same side of the draw.
