The lack of goals from open play of late is the main issue. It’s influenced by a variety of factors, but we have to improve there or we’ll inevitably struggle.

Well if you contrived your predictions to think of almost the worse case scenario, then its really easy to see why we'd be 6th in the next 3 games. As all of a sudden we're apparently awful, so awful a point is the limit of our ambitions from Wolves away and Chelsea at home.

Mentally weak.

You know we're not the players, right? The fans can be as mentally weak as they like if the team's good (cf. all the teams that win things and their shitty fans).

You can be as mentally strong as you like (and I have no doubt you are) but it means fuck all if Watkins tries to control a long ball on his left tibia.

But, and to repeat it once again, it's symptomatic of the whole prevailing attitude that something's always bound to go wrong. It's the biggest problem Villa face, and it's been there for as long as I can remember.

The attitude of fans makes precisely zero difference. Arsenal are top of the league and have the shittest crybaby fans in football.

Aren't Arsenal the perfect example of the attitude of fans having a direct impact?  The reputation they've built up over the last 4-5 years as bottlers has come as much from their fans over-reacting to any minor setback as anything, and has definitely translated to their performances on a number of occasions.

I think Arsenal are the exception to the rule in that regard. Not saying fan pressure hasn't played it's part, but there's a number of other factors at play, not least that they've had to go up against a generational manager at the peak of his powers.

It's not just about supporters; it's the entire club. We never think we belong.

I reckon the majority of Arsenal fans are probably fine, we just see their 'content creators' who pretty much all seem like attention seeking click desperate bellends.

They’re not alone in that regard though. It’s creeping into the Villa-sphere as well.

I’m putting it all down to the fact I’m a retired grumpy old fart and just can’t get with the current zeitgeist of online twattery.

There's definitely Villa related pages appearing on FB that are just clickbait shite.

I know a few Arsenal fans, all North Londoners, a couple have been priced put of going anymore and they all think ArsenalTV is a load of wank. Ok so it's only 4 people but I reckon there's way more like them than the ones that appear on it.

I only know one Arsenal fan (through my late dad), he's a Londoner, and he's the biggest wanker of a football fan I have met. Add that to AFTV and I conclude they are all the same. I rest my case. Obviously I'm kidding but he genuinely is the most irritating person I have ever met.

I have a good friend who is an Arsenal season ticket holder from Bournemouth. He is going through the ringer at the moment with the whole title race. Not entitled in the slightest,  but then he has be going to games since the late 70's and seen the good and bad.

"Bad" by Arsenal standards isn't bad by most football fan standards
