Can’t see us finishing top 5 now. Liverpool/Chelsea/United all look stronger and will have VAR protection. It’ll all come down to the Europa league.

Don't worry, we'll still finish top 5 (as long as Dave keeps his daughter away from Villa Park for the rest of the season).

Would be happy winning the Europa league and ending 30 years without a trophy, I just want something tangible with Emery. Personally qualifying for the champs league which were very unlikely to win and being charged 90 odd quid a game doesn’t excite me that much

The trouble is that you can win the FA or League Cups as many times as you like and you'll never improve your standing but as we saw last season, the Champions League is a gamechanger.

Long Time Reader First Time Poster Edited - I forgot I posted once before back in 2015  :)

Having looked at the next 4 games for each of the top 6, here is what I think the standings will be this time next month:

1 Arsenal 59 pts
2 Villa 58*
3 City 55
4/5/6 Utd/Chelsea/Pool 49

*Caveat - this prediction was made by a very optimistic/hopeful Villa Fan UTV!

If we are going to qualify Onana is going to have to be able to play at least 10-12 of the remaining games. Bogarde is developing, but he isn’t good enough to be a regular starter for a team trying to finish top 4/5.

We really love to make things hard for ourselves

It's not our fault we suffer ridiculous injuries every time we look like doing anything special.

Sheer bad luck is what's making it hard for us.

And I intend to continue railing ineffectually against the whips and scorns of chance until such time as we actually get some good fortune for a fucking change.

I know what your saying about injuries sam but realistically  we have only three injuries (its just unfortunate  its in the bloody same position) which is annoying. But as a while other clubs have more than we do. We have to manage it.

Still i think injuries  aside no excuse to concede  a goal against 10 men then failtp score  in over  a hour.  The top  sides usually detsroy teams with 10 men. Look how we fell part at OT with 10 men for example

McGinn, Tielemans, Onana, Kamara and Watkins isn't 3 injuries.

Onana wasn't fit enough to play. Emery has stated that. It's 5 first teamers out. Half the team. Genuine first teamers, not Tottenham Ben Davies injured style first teamer. Actual players that play every game for us when fit.

Half your team out is a lot.

No idea but if he was fit then he'd come on when losing 1-0 at home to 10 men and Bogarde playing like a bag of shit. Emery says he wasn't fit to play, he wasn't fit.

Half the first team out is a killer for us and the club have tried getting cover in with players that either know the club or know it and the managers style so they can bed in quickly but it's a massive bummer that we've so many out at once particularly in 1 position.

If people want to have a whip round for tickets and travel I'll start sending her to Man City.

I've decided to be hopeful. We won't come up against 10/11 big clubberin' giants crowded inside their 18-yard box every week, least of all with half the team out and having to play kids and guys who literally arrived yesterday. And you know, the crazy amazing run has given us the leeway to have a bit of a blip - and that blip included a win away at Newcastle!

So it's not all doom, despite what I admit was a remarkably atrocious weekend.
