Clean sheet and it should have been a very comfortable victory.

Some of our decisions in front of goal are comical. Last season we’d of had a hatful. I suppose thats the main difference between this season and last.

For all the talk of our defence during the bad run, the main problem has been shite decisions when in great positions. If Villa had Salah we’d be challenging for the league.
Agree. Konsa, Carlos and Torres excellent today.

Ooh, someone who knows what they’re looking at. We should have him stuffed.

Jesus Christ

That’s my exclamation when I read dozens of comments about how shit he is by people who can’t remember previous Villa games and score lines.

I like Torres and all (Pau Posse 4 Lyf), but conceding 1.7 a game for a year doesn't exactly suggest a defence which isn't really 'the main problem'.

Mate, honestly take it up with Emery, who has picked Cash for every single big game in the Premier League this year when he's been available.

One thing about the opposition, that Tyler Dibling is going to be an absolute star.  Only 18, and already looking more than comfortable at this level.  With better players around him, he'd have caused us real problems today.  Also looks pretty quick, which you don't always see with players with his playing style.

I imagine he'll be poached in the summer when they go down, and I hope we're one of the clubs in for him (and we're not pipped by someone like bloody Spurs).  Imagine if he'd been down our right side today, we'd have battered them.

He reminds me of you know who

But with pace.  A very dangerous combination.

100% has the mark of the cockerel.  It’s exactly the kind of player they sign and we don’t.

And it's going well for them.

The defence is not great by any means,, but today’s line up is more parsimonious than the one most people seem to prefer.

Good following from Southampton in that weather & distance to watch then, don’t think Emi had a meaningful save to make.

Awful conditions so I’m just happy with the 3 points and to thaw out!

Ok. Let’s close all the threads if we’re just supposed to repost what the manager thinks.

Before the game, some dope called Carlos and Konsa the axis of chaos or something, and belittled my opinion that it’s statistically proven to be our best defence (without Mings).

In future if you could pm when I’m allowed to have a go back that would be good.

We did ok, should’ve had a hat full but win the game. McGinn was a true leader out there today, what we’d do without him I don’t know.
One minus was the moaning and whining from some towards Philogene. He didn’t play well but is there really any point in getting on a young lads back like that?

In all honesty I couldn’t wait to get out of the ground today. Absolutely crap match. Just glad we have played the 2 teams with the worst away records in the division. Can’t do better than getting 6/6 points but, not great performances. Hand on heart, the way we’ve played generally this season, I’m amazed we are 5th in the league.

I felt the same, coldest I’ve been at a match for many a year. Wind was blasting straight at the Holte end. I thought both teams did well in absolutely awful conditions. Yes we should have scored more, they had only one threatening moment. Not a game to remember but we have 3 points.

Yep, that was a hard watch, particularly in the 2nd half.  We've got to do some business in January as certain areas are becoming a problem.  I'm a big fan of John
McGinn, but when he plays in that '10' role and when Rogers and Bailey are off the pace, we haven't got any real speed on the counter attack.

All said, we are up.to 5th now, with a big game in Europe on Tuesday.

I feel a bit sorry for Philogene it’s not his fault
he’s been promoted above and beyond his abilities i’m afraid

And I was one who thought he’d be the surprise package of this season but he’s clearly way out of his depth, but we have no alternative to when Bailey is putting in his normal piss poor offering

That Dibling is like a budget clone of peak Grealish. Looks like Forest went to the same factory and ordered one too .
