One thing about the opposition, that Tyler Dibling is going to be an absolute star.  Only 18, and already looking more than comfortable at this level.  With better players around him, he'd have caused us real problems today.  Also looks pretty quick, which you don't always see with players with his playing style.

Reminds me of Chris Waddle, style of play and gait.

Duran was rewarded for his endeavour.

Ollie was a mess, but not worried about him really - as someone pointed out earlier, it’s 7 in 15 for him.

The lack of goals elsewhere is a concern, and could have cost us today, as it did versus Palace and Bournemouth.

Bit like on Wednesday, there was so little to do at the back that it’s hard to draw any conclusions from this game. But all 7 players we’ve used across the back these past 2 games have finished on the winning side, and that will boost everyone’s confidence.

We don’t seem able to really get things under control enough in central midfield, and then to click with the forwards. Tielemans was flat again, Barkley imprecise, McGinn too dependent on his arse tricks. And we lack penetration up the right. Rogers did a decent impression of Ramsey up the left, but I’d rather see him in the centre personally.

But we won, put ourselves back in the position to which we have become accustomed, pending jam tomorrow from Unai.

Most definitely, I know it’s not ideal to have to rely on scoring for fun every match, but we’ve not been nowhere near as clinical as last season and that puts far more pressure to defend well. It’s often not even the finishing but it’s the decisions we’re making.

Watkins isn’t a worry for me, he’ll still assist and score plenty. Philogene on the other hand, he’s just not good enough to be our only alternative wide right.

Yep, Diaby was quality and a massive upgrade on Philogene. Qualifying for Champions League and then having to replace him with a 2nd division player stinks. These rules are a silly.

It was a really weird game, so I’m guessing the conditions must have had a lot to do with it. Rogers and Kamara ace, the back 5 competent. Ollie was just strange.

Southampton are awful. Joe-anna Lumley was terrible, but every time he made a blunder it fell okay for Saints. Can’t see how they can stay up.

I imagine he'll be poached in the summer when they go down, and I hope we're one of the clubs in for him (and we're not pipped by someone like bloody Spurs).  Imagine if he'd been down our right side today, we'd have battered them.
