Poor game, awful weather. Decided to to do just enough it seemed and in fairness, we comfortably did. Could have had e or 4 second half, can't be so profligate all the while.

Leipzig bound!

It was a poor game today, with far too many mistakes, but for me the worst culprit is Tielemans. He give the ball away far too often, and then just throws his arms up in the air, instead of trying to regain possession. He's out weak link in midfield.
He started the season really well, but agree that he has given the ball away far too often in recent games.  Would like to see what a Kamara and Onana partnership looks like in central midfield really.
Agree with both comments as that was my impression of Youri as well. Sometimes he’s slow and careless and there was lot of that yesterday.

Had to leave Villa Park early as my 7 year old Gson was struggling after getting soaked on the way to the ground. His safety took precedent. The bonus was that on way back we saw the Villa bus on Lichfield Road going towards Spaghetti Junction, I presume on its way to Leipzig.

We saw the Liverpool team bus on the way down to Villa Park yesterday. Poor bloke has a right drive on for their game.

Tielemans has good game/bad game syndrome, he is very inconsistent.
Yesterday. He got caught in possession too many times, got muscled off the ball easily and slowed the game down too much when in possession.

He is a much better player when he’s playing at a higher tempo and dictating the game, rather than playing as defensive midfielder.

Mostly poor performances of late.

Two things I've learned this week....

Morgan Rogers needs to stick with the blonde locks (*last two performances have been like a light switch being turned on)
John McGinn's super power is playing in typical shite Scottish weather (*been below par for a while now, but thought he was pushing for MotM yesterday)

Onto Leipzig. UTV

His post match interview on MOTD last night reflects that Nii Lamptey, he was positively basking in the weather!

Rogers McGinn and Kamara ran the show. Martinez deserved that clean sheet, playing with injury , long periods with nothing to do apart from keep warm made a good save which is standard for him. Good couple of home wins.

We were scrappy for much of the game but were so bad yesterday I find it difficult to judge on anything other that everyone worked hard. Pleased with the result but after travel problems and being cold for the whole match I reckon the final whistle was my favourite part of the game.

Cross stop maybe? Because officially, he didn't have a save to make.

We also have a contender for the wettest, windiest and coldest fixture ever.

Up there with Oldham for wind chill.

It was only my lads 4th ever game, and his first win. I was saying to him that I'd been going to the game for what seems like forever and that was as cold and wet as I'd ever been. He replied that 'yes its the coldest and wettest he'd ever been at his games, but it was still brilliant'

Makes it all seem worthwhile, nearly.

Beautiful.
